Since we opened in 2019, against the odds we feel have created a community hub in Belhaven. There is amazing bars/cafes/restaurants in Dunbar, west barns and East Linton but Belhaven was left behind, especially with new housing going up in the area.

Our amazing customers have always been so engaging and we ask you not to just help support our community hub, but all the hospitality businesses in our area and also further afield throughout Scotland and the uk. Once these places are lost they will most likely never come back. Please sign the petition below, it is huge for this industry.

We have been honoured yet again with another nomination for Scottish Pub of the year and we are very humbled to be recognised for providing excellence in Scottish hospitality. This is the third time we have been recognised, after winning the award for two years running. It really does fill us with pride.

The bar has been raised even higher this year for The Brig and Barrel as we have been nominated for the highest award of all - ‘Champion of Scottish Hospitality’. This category highlights all venues across Scotland to show our amazing culture and attractions.

We feel that our unique little pub represents Scottish culture at its best as it provides a local hub in the heart of Belhaven, with good food, good beer and great service.

The Brig has been drawing locals and tourists through our doors since 2019 and we strongly feel we represent the best of Scottish Hospitality.

With hospitality across the country on their knees, trying to keep afloat of rising costs and constant increased taxation, it’s the accolades like these that make all the difference to our wee pub. We have managed to keep our doors opened due to our wonderful patrons (and their wonderful canines) who visit and we thank you again for your custom and continued support.

Our amazing chef Allie has produced this beauty of a dish, she even caught the wild garlic locally herself!

Ridiculously tasty and full of flavours.

VEGAN SPECIAL
Butternut squash and wild garlic pasta, toasted sourdough
topped with vegan ricotta, wild garlic pesto & pea shoots. (contains walnuts)

The new additions to our spring/summer menu have been a hit over the Easter weekend. Here’s few pics of the most popular so far.
- Chicken balmoral with a cheeky twist
- Slow seasoned lamb shoulder Greek style
- Charcuterie board (comes large a small, nice even shared with good pals over a glass of vino!)
- Strawberry tart - get the tennis rackets out, spring is here. Highly recommend with a glass of Pimm’s

Open from noon every day now, except Tuesday when we all rest, play tennis, drink Pimm’s and eat strawberry tarts!

Hiya folks,
We have a bit of winter maintenance to do to keep the pub looking and functioning well ahead of the busy Easter and summer season. Our good pal ‘Kev the joiner’ who helped us build the pub is back for a visit to help with this and there is one big job that will take us 2 full days to complete in the service area so we will be closed on Wednesday 4th March along with our usual Tuesday to get this job done. See you back on Thursday from noon o clock pals
