Time for an update on what’s been going on behind the scenes at The Bank…
As most of you will be aware, our other business, La Dolce Vita is relocating to the upper floor of The Bank. This is a decision we have made for many reasons, with the main reason being that our 10 year lease at our Irish Street location is coming to an end shortly and after lots of consideration regarding next steps it makes the most sense to use the full upper floor of The Bank building.
I am not great at social media, or at putting myself out there in the world, but I’ve had a few people assume the wrong information about how things will work when we move LDV so I just want to explain things so people know the correct information…
Both premises, although under one roof, will be accessed via completely separate entrances, for deliveries and for customers, and will be completely separated by new walls which are already in place as you will see if you have been into The Bank recently or you will see shortly if you keep an eye on our La Dolce Vita page. We are in the process of making a brand new shiny kitchen and bar upstairs and LDV will still have everything that makes it so awesome and some added seats to boot 🤩!
We are now accessible via Bank Street instead of Whitesands as LDV will use the Whitesands entrance when we are ready to open. Perception seems to be that LDV being upstairs will affect how we operate at The Bank and this couldn’t be further from the truth. Other than us losing some space, NOTHING else will change at The Bank. Staff will still have the same welcoming faces, the vibe will be the same (although if anything I think our new layout is better 😍), the food will be the same and the cocktails will be the same, although as you know we are always tweaking little things to improve our menus where possible! We have literally just added snazzy new toilets and changed our entrance and some furniture. We are proud of what we have created over the past 6 years and we wouldn’t change anything unless we were confident it would improve customer experience.
I know this was a long one and if you have made it to the end of the post I’m so grateful. Please trust us and watch our progress updates for upstairs where we will show you along the way. If anyone wants to ask any questions I’d be more than happy to answer them. Tell everyone you know, as we are so excited for you all to come on this journey with us, just please tell the real story 🫶… no speculation 🙏🏻.
