Message from the Captain.
Firstly, thank you for your support throughout the recently completed golf season as we move into the final months of the calendar year. I have thoroughly enjoyed the season and will share more reflections at the upcoming end-of-year events.
The winter league is now up and running, and thanks go to Gary and Lee for organising it and allowing members to keep their hand in during the off-season. Thank you also to Stevie Gorman for running our first junior winter league, which is great to see. We have many enthusiastic junior golfers whom we, as a golf club, need to support and develop, continuing the excellent work of Lee, Ian, Robert, Ash, Ricky and anyone else I may have missed.
As we transition into the cold, dark months of the year, all members and guests must follow instructions from our greens team. The winter plan is now being implemented, with one of the key measures being that players must not play from the fairways. This is essential to protect the fairways and put us in the best possible position for next year. We saw many positive results from last year’s trial ahead of the season.
A final request from me: please purchase your tickets for the prizegiving on 7th November. Even if you haven’t won a prize, it would be great to see as many members and guests there as possible—not only to congratulate the winners and celebrate our club champions, but also to mark a great season at the club with great music, food and drink.
