Established in 1999, The Venue is a locally owned and operated, independent grassroots music venue and nightclub situated in the town of Dumfries, Scotland. The SkyBar on the 2nd floor offers a selection of current and classic pop tunes, whereas The Ballroom on the 1st floor plays a selection of dance music old and new. Friday nightclub commences at 11pm, Saturday is from 9pm, both nights run through until 3am. We also host a few local club nights which bring a great selection of local and international talent to our stage. Best Bar None Silver Award Winner 2013/14 and Gold Award Winner 2014-15. Although The Venue has been around for the past 27 years, this prominent grade B listed building has entertained Dumfries for decades! Many may remember it as “The Loft” and “Club Excel” in the 90s, “Judy Chicago’s” and “The Oasis” in the 80s and “Oughton’s” in the 70s, which have all proven a popular night out with the locals over the years. If you've never been, try it! it's reasonably priced on the door and on the bar. We cater for all ages and our resident DJs are flexible in their sets and welcome requests. All live music events are restricted to 14+ accompanied by an adult over 18, or 16+ unaccompanied. Nightclub events are strictly 18+
