BARLOW CARNIVAL WEEK AT THE TICKLED TROUT 🎉

It’s Barlow Carnival week, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with the village!🥂

Tonight is the Blessing of the Wells where the outdoor service at the church will start at 6:30pm, followed by the band procession through the village, finishing on the green here by The Tickled Trout with maypole dancing by the well dressing. Please be aware that there will be a road closure through the village from Springfield road up to The Peacock from 6:45-8:30pm for the parade, so please plan your journey accordingly.

On Saturday (carnival day), the float parade starts at 1pm from Springfield Road down by us, travelling through the village and finishing on the village green.

We won’t be serving lunch as usual Saturday lunchtime, but an outdoor bar will be open for you to grab a drink and enjoy the parade with us.🍻There will again be a road closure from 12:45-2:45pm for the parade.

We’ll also be serving our pizzas on the main carnival field, with regular food service back at The Tickled Trout from 5pm.

We hope to see lots of you joining in the celebrations and enjoy a brilliant Barlow Carnival! 💛

Over the years we’ve welcomed thousands of guests through our doors, shared countless celebrations, served plenty of great food and drinks, and made memories with so many of you along the way.

A huge thank you to our fantastic customers and brilliant team, for all your support over the last 12 years. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you.

Do you know the story behind this one?👩‍🍳

This dish wasn’t created in the kitchen... it started at home. Whilst I’ve been laid up feeling pretty rough, I couldn’t switch my brain off. I sketched out this tartlet and sent it over to the team with an idea of how I wanted it to look.

Then the magic happened. The boys and girls brought it to life without me being there, and they absolutely nailed it. Seeing an idea go from a rough drawing on paper to a finished dish because of the talent and trust within the team makes me incredibly proud.

Massive credit to every single one of them. I can’t wait to get back into the kitchen!
