What a fantastic effort £2000 raised in one evening for Yorkshire Cancer Research!!,
Yes £2000 Wow
THANK YOU so much to everyone that kindly baked the fantastic cakes and cookies and everyone who bought the cakes and raffle tickets.
Just to confirm I had absolutely nothing to do with organising this fantastic event, I put zero effort in to raising any of the total,
The whole night from start to finished was organised and staffed on the night ( voluntary) by our fantastic team members, all the hard work the collecting of raffle and tombola prizes, the selling of the many tickets over the last week all carried out by our superb team of which i am incredibly proud.
Once again the local businesses have been so generous and donated some fantastic prizes, we all know many small local businesses are having to cope with a massive increase in costs and tax at the momment but over and over again when asked they come up trumps and help the village, if it's a junior sports team that needs a new kit or a charity event that needs a donation or raffle prize the local businesses of the village and surrounding areas help out time and time again.
So please this week before you call into Greggs or Starbucks for your morning coffee and cake, take a walk to your local coffee shop Amico Espresso & Café Bar , or Drighlington Bake Shed , if you fancy a sandwich or a proper pie visit Walkers little pie shop ,
or maybe a game of golf followed by some lunch at Cook House Bar & Kitchen then maybe a wonderful ice cream at Goodalls Ice Creams, Tong Village ,
save your taxi fare and instead of going into morley for a drink call into The Malt Shovel Drighlington for a cheeky pint and a game of pool or darts, too tired to cook tea ?,
stroll upto The Railway Drighlington or longer walk to the the bank house Inn at Fulneck for a lovely home cooked meal and glass of w**e,
no need to go into Leeds or Bradford for that special occasion when you can treat yourself at the fantastic award winning Indian, Prashad
Local communities support local businesses and local businesses support local communities!!
what a fantastic village!!!
And as always, you are all very welcome to join us at The Spotted Cow Drighlington for one of our community events (Monday memory meet, book club, open mic, quiz or our new Spritz Social craft afternoons)or just for a drink and a bite to eat.
Thank you so much to everyone who bought a raffle ticket or donated you are all fantastic.
