David Gray in Downpatrick!

Due to a series of unforeseen circumstances, we are delighted to announce that David Gray's concerts will now happen in the stunning setting of Down Cathedral. We would urge people not to criticise the local church who have been very supportive of Soma and to whom we are very grateful. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause some of you. However, we do know that these will be stellar concerts regardless and our volunteer team at Soma is working extra hard to ensure that all attendees have a fantastic experience at this different, though no less beautiful, venue. Emails have been sent out to all ticket holders with pertinent information. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries.

Another Trad & Folk Fest Weekend over! A week off, and we're back at it again :) Thank you to everyone who attended and supported, and special thanks to Denvir's Coaching Inn and Down Arts Centre for hosting, sponsoring and supporting us. Thanks to all our fantastic "Singers in the Round" Brigid O'Neill Music, Gerry Creen & Gregg Coyle who gave a barnstorming show and shared their beautiful songs with style, panache and a nudge and a wink when required. Thank you to Lucy Bell who was so good she got an extra set - a voice to listen out for! Many thanks to Josephine Mulvenna Music (with Mark Carmichael & Barbara Fitzpatrick) who made a magnificent return to her old stomping grounds. Thank you to the kids from Bunscoil Mhuire agus Padraig and all the musicians and singers who got up to perform at the Open Session on Sunday - you were super and troopers one and all! Last, but not least, a special thanks to Adam Mullan whose skills reconciled the wild diversity of vocals, guitars, bouzoukis, harmonicas, fiddles, keyboards and kept it all (inc. Harvey Vint) sounding splendid ;)

Downpatrick Folk Club's Trad and Folk Fest Weekend is almost upon us! The events are:

Fri 26th May . “Singers in the Round”
8pm at Denvir's Coaching Inn, Downpatrick. Brigid O'Neill Music, Gerry Creen and Gregg Coyle. FREE ADMISSION.

Sat 27th May. Performance from Bunscoil Mhuire agus Phadraig & Musical workshop from Downpatrick Folk Club Members.
Starts 1PM at Down Arts Centre, Downpatrick. FREE ADMISSION.

Sat 27th May. Concert: Josephine Mulvenna
8pm in the courtyard at Denvir's Coaching Inn (weather permitting; otherwise indoors at the upstairs function room) FREE ADMISSION.

Sunday 28th May. Concert & Seisiún
Various local singers & musicians. From 4pm at Denvir's Coaching Inn. FREE ADMISSION.

Breaking Trad: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the concert on Saturday 26th May by Breaking Trad has been cancelled. Anyone seeking a refund for their tickets can do so at Denvir's. Thanks a million from all at DFC for the keen interest shown! It's good to know that folk is still alive and kicking in Downpatrick!
