We have received some incredibly sad news that Lee Griffiths has passed away.

Lee worked with me for many years, first helping out in the kitchen and then becoming a huge part of Bluebirdā€™s Kitchen from the very beginning when we launched during COVID. He played a big part in helping make it what it was, and I will always be grateful for that.

He was one of the kindest, gentlest souls you could meet. A hard worker, a lovely person, and someone who brought so much warmth and laughter wherever he was. We shared a lot of laughs over the years, and I have so many fond memories of working alongside him.

Recently, Iā€™ve found myself thinking a lot about Bluebirdā€™s Kitchen and the memories from those days and how it should be revived with the original team, then hearing this news has truly hit me hard, Lee was such a big part of that chapter. He was with me from the very beginning. He always embraced my wacky ideas, when I would come up with something new he would simply look at me wide eyed and go, yep ok Kay letā€™s do it. He really was a special part of the Bluebirds Family, he truly helped me to survive the stress of covid closing everything down, we worked together as a team and having him by my side meant that the impossible was actually possible.

The photo Iā€™ve shared is something that now means even more. Behind the scenes at Bluebirds, on the staff entrance wall, many members of staff have left their mark over the years. Among them is a simple message: ā€œLee was here.ā€

And he was.

He was here, he made a difference, and he will be remembered by those of us lucky enough to have known and worked with him. He truly will be missed.

My thoughts, love and deepest condolences are with Leeā€™s children, family, friends and everyone who loved him. I am so so sorry for your loss.

Rest easy, Lee. Thank you for the memories and thankyou for being you, you were a great man and Iā€™ll miss you ā¤ļø
