A deliciously sumptuous wine with a pale straw colour and a fine bead of bubbles. D'Urberville Vineyard was established in 2011 and produces a a striking new member of the elite English School of Sparkling Wines on part of Old Poundbury Farm, Dorchester. The owner's grandfather was acquainted with the famous Dorset author Thomas Hardy, hence the name D’Urberville Vineyard Ltd. The south-facing vin

eyard is planted on chalky slopes, geologically the same as those found throughout the Champagne region. The classic champagne grape varieties of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay form the backbone of the vineyard, with the Bacchus grape variety added this year. The first harvest was in 2014 and the Traditional Method of barrel fermentation, followed by two years ageing in the bottle has produced, a striking sparkling wine. We have the exclusive first release available at present. The nose is alive with aromas of fresh strawberries, red apple and lemon tart. The palate is reminiscent of pear tart-tatin with a subtle lime acidity that produces a long, elegant finish.
