The 'Don Valley Cruise'. Doncaster, 3rd Saturday every month. The 'Don Valley Cruise is a place where like-minded Hotrod & American car enthusiasts can go to meet and talk hot cars! See you there, 3rd Sat every month!

The 'Don Valley Cruise' is a place where hopefully like minded car enthusiasts can go and catch up with what's happening in the Hot Rod, American car scene, a place where rodders can meet up with friends and fingers crossed meet friends from way back that used to be in the hobby. What could be better, a cruise-nite, a beer and a burger and meeting up with others; does it get any better?? It can only work if attended, so polish off that wicked ride, pump up the volume on the stereo and have a cruise over on the 3rd Saturday of every month, about 5 o'clock... Frankie & Benny's, next door to the Doncaster Bowl, Leisure Park, Bawtry Road, Doncaster, DN4 5NW... We'll be waiting for yer!

September '26, DVC 'Cruiser of the Month Award goes to.....
Don and his 1981 T25, now the award might surprise some, it shouldn't when you talk to the owner and find out what's been done to this particular vehicle, but this month's winner is the VW bus you see here.
Every nut and bolt has been renewed, bodywork and paint, full and total mechanical overall with a 2000cc engine rebuild, Corsa C electric power-steering, new Audi wheels/tyres, and on top of all that it's the owners daily driver throughout the summer months.
So welcome to the DVC monthly award winners family, and congratulations! 🏆

September '26 Don Valley Cruise.

The last event of this year had a good turn out, plenty of different genres within the boundaries of what's the DVC would like to see.
A massive thank you to all who have supported the cruise over the years, especially this year's last event, as it has made a difference towards a decision that was to be made regarding the DVC going into 2027, and to those that didn't? Well, what can you say, some might not be as supportive towards their events in the future?
Thank you again, and we hope to see y'all again real soon. 🤘

Numbers have been low as late, but after 15yrs+ of the DVC, we need to keep events like this in our diaries and turn out for them.

The July 'Don Valley Cruise', 'Cruiser of the Month' award this time goes to Gareth from Featherstone, and his recently imported 1933 Ford Coupe.
What a car this is, a very high end quality build originating from Texas, shipped over with 1 mile on the clock, now gracing our UK roads.
This is Garath's first hotrod he tells me, and he says his last, so he wanted to get the right car that will see him out.
Independent front suspension, 9" rear end on a 4-bar system, crate 350ci Chevy V8, 700r4 auto box, this combo linked with efi gets him about 25mpg, all that coupled with electric windows and air-conditioning, it must be an absolute pleasure to drive!
Every part of this car is pure class, if it was mine I'd drive the wheels off it!

April 'Cruiser of the Month'.....
The DVC award for this month goes to the owner of this 1940 Chevy coupe.
Originally built and turned into this amazing hotrod by the well known magazine photographer Mike Key in the early 90's, it was then sold on and ended up in the ownership of another well known builder of quality cars, Mr. Steve Fletcher.
'Fletch' then rebuilt the car into his style of Streetrod, after winning many awards and covering plenty of miles, it was then sold to Steve's good friend Phil Gay, the guy who actually painted the car for Steve.
Phil didn't do to many miles in the car before it got laid up due to ill health, where it spent the next 20 years!!!
The dust covers were taken off the car, given fresh fuel and a new battery, and this 90's survivor fired up straight away and ran sweet.
Straight out the garage, onto the motorway, and the next stop was the Don Valley Cruise, not bad eh?
So that's roughly the deserved story of the car so far, and now you can look out for it at as many events as possible in the future, all adding to this '40 Chevrolet's resume'.

April '26...'Don Valley Cruise'.

Not as many attended as I was expecting actually, I thought people would have been chewing at the bit to get out and about after a winter lay up.
Anyway, it was nice to catch up with my friends that were there, and to have a chat with the vehicle owners that did turn out. So hopefully we'll see you all, and more, next month. 👍
