Next Saturday June 13th 🎶

After so many people asked for another one, our Northern Soul Night returns to The Brass Lamp next Saturday, 13th June, from 7pm.

Tom from Rock-A-Buy Records will be joining us once again with a box full of Northern Soul vinyl, and you can help shape the evening by picking some of the tunes.

With a bit of luck the weather will be kind and we can make use of the garden as well. ☀️

Whether you’re a lifelong soul fan or just fancy a few drinks and some great music, come along and join us for a relaxed Saturday evening.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Caribbean Evening. 🇯🇲

We had some fantastic food from Kara, plenty of Red Stripe and a great selection of reggae tunes courtesy of our guest DJ for the evening, Pez. A really enjoyable night all round.

Congratulations as well to Ricky and Becky, who each picked up one of our Simply Quaffable Brass Lamp T-shirts for sporting the best Caribbean shirts of the evening.

No rest for us though, as we head straight into next week and our Northern Soul Night on Saturday 13th.

Quite a few people have been asking when we were doing another one, so here it is. If you fancy an evening of Northern Soul and Motown classics, come and join us from 7pm.

little taste of the Caribbean at The Brass Lamp this evening 🇯🇲

Red Stripe is on the bar, Kara is serving up curried goat, jerk chicken and more from 5pm, and there’ll be plenty of reggae classics spinning on vinyl throughout the evening.

Expect a bit of Bob Marley, T***s & The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff and whatever else finds its way onto the turntable.

Nothing too fancy. Just good food, cold beer, great music and good company.

🌴 This Friday we’re doing something a little different at The Brass Lamp 🌴

We have some Caribbean street food on offer from 5pm, with Kara serving up Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat and a few island-inspired favourites, while we’ll be putting a few records on and creating a bit of a Caribbean soundtrack for the evening.

If you’ve got a bright shirt tucked away somewhere, stick it on. There’ll be a prize for the best one on the night.

A bit of Caribbean food, a few drinks, some great music and a relaxed start to the weekend.

Unfortunately, due to a work commitment, Roger is unable to make tonight’s (Thursday) Jam Session.

Apologies for the late notice, but these things sometimes can’t be helped.

We’ll be back as normal next Thursday, and the Jam Sessions will resume then.

🎸 JAM NIGHT CANCELLED 🎸
Apologies for the very late call.

Unfortunately tonight’s Jam Night at The Brass Lamp Micro Bar has had to be cancelled due to Roger currently being trapped somewhere in the chaos of a King’s Lynn traffic jam.

Reports suggest he’s moved approximately 14 feet in the last hour and has now formed a close emotional bond with a man in a white van and a service station sausage roll.

At this rate he may arrive in time for next Thursday’s session.

Apologies to everyone who was planning on coming down with guitars, tambourines, harmonicas, triangles or “just one quick song”.

Normal musical service will resume next week… assuming Roger escapes Norfolk.

Sorry to everyone.

Another scorcher out there, so if you fancy escaping the heat for a bit, head down to The Brass Lamp tonight for Roger and the Open Jam Experience. 🍻🎶

Cold beer. Good tunes. Air moving through the doors. Not a bad way to spend a Thursday evening.

Bring an instrument and join in, or just grab a pint and enjoy the music. The whole idea is relaxed and welcoming — chords up on the screen so people can play along, have a laugh and get involved without feeling like they’re auditioning for Glastonbury.

Guitar, ukulele, harmonica, cajon, tambourine…all welcome. Even the triangle if you insist 😄
