The Falstaff pub & Brewery

The Falstaff pub & Brewery This is the OFFICIAL Falstaff pub and Brewery page run by the Landlord & Landlady. The Falstaff is a Real Ale pub situated in Derby.

We are a traditional (haunted) real ale house. We are a traditional English Ale house based just outside of Derby City Centre. We have our own Micro-brewery and our beers are available on tap or some in bottles
We have a pool table, a beer garden and a real fire. Dogs are welcome but must be
kept on a lead at all times and kept off the furniture. We allow supervised children up until
6pm (except

in the front bar) but we do not class ourselves as child-friendly and would
advise that you bring suitable activities to keep your little ones entertained. Children are
not permitted to run around the pub. We believe that there should be plenty to look at in a
pub and as such have a large amount of artifacts and ornaments around the pub. We were
awarded Derby Camra pub of the year in 2010 and were identified in "The Lonely Planet"
magazine as one of the top ten places in the world to visit.

Thank you to everyone that attended Gary's day of celebration yesterday. He would have been incredibly touched by the huge amount of his friends and loved ones that turned up. There were many others who could not attend who still had him in their thoughts yesterday. He was loved by so many people and we all did him proud. Thank you so much to the family who sent these gorgeous flowers with a thank you attached to the falstaff community for looking after Gary. I think we all agree that it was our absolute pleasure. Rest easy old friend. You will be missed by so many xx

It has been decided that Gary O'Grady will be having a direct cremation and therefore no funeral service. Gary was however, part of the Falstaff family and so we have decided to hold a day to celebrate his life. This is very much an unofficial celebration and has been arranged by a group of his friends. We will of course still share any official arrangements should we find those details out. We would like to invite any of Gary's friends and family to join us here at the Falstaff from 2pm onwards on Friday 13th of February to share their memories and raise a glass in his honour. There will be a collection on the day to donate to Linjoy Wildlife sanctuary and rescue in Gary's name paying tribute to his love of feeding the squirrels every day in the Arboretum park. In all our years at the Falstaff, we have never had so many people enquire about a funeral. This is testament to the impact Gary had on the people around him. We hope you can join us to celebrate the life of this truly amazing man. Let's do him proud.
