The first beer in our Oktoberfest lineup has arrived!

Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier is a classic golden Bavarian lager, brewed in Munich especially for the festival since 1818.

Smooth, full-bodied and steeped in Oktoberfest tradition, we couldn’t think of a more fitting beer to begin the celebrations at The Old Bell.

Oktoberfest is coming to The Old Bell!

Join us from 25–27 September for a weekend of German beers and delicious German food, enjoyed within the historic atmosphere of The Old Bell, with a Bavarian twist.

The celebrations officially begin at 6pm on Friday 25th, with the tapping of the keg - following the famous tradition that opens Oktoberfest in Munich.

Keep an eye on the socials over the next few weeks, as we'll be announcing our fantastic range of beers on the lead up to Oktoberfest.

Soul at the Bell returns this Saturday for another fantastic evening of music in the Grand Regency Ballroom!

Join us as guest DJs Steve Smith, John Fellows, Dave Roberts and Martin Peach take to the decks, playing the finest selection of soul music on vinyl.

Whether you’re a dedicated soul fan or simply fancy an evening on the dancefloor, come along and enjoy the music in the historic surroundings of The Old Bell.

Doors open at 6pm and entry is just £5 on the door. See you there!

On the cask lines this week we have another fantastic offering!

Alongside Bass, we have The Ducks of Hazzard from Dancing Duck Brewery , a 4.5% classic pale, a hoppy session pale in the form of Ghost Rat from Rat Brewery and offering something a little different, we have Crimes in Motueka from , a 6.2% Hazy New Zealand IPA.
On the guest keg line, we have a new collaboration between Thornbridge Brewery and .ales, Root & Peak, another strong hazy IPA at 7.1%.

As August draws to a close - and summer perhaps with it - we’re looking back on another fantastic month at The Old Bell!

From beautiful weddings and Disco Bliss to the start of a new Derby season and plenty of summer sun, August certainly had it all.

Now, we’re looking forward to another month of unforgettable events, experiences and memories - and, before long, the fire returning to the Tudor Bar!

What a fantastic Bank Holiday Quiz Night!

We had such a brilliant turnout that our teams spilled out of the Tavern Bar and into the Ballroom - as good an excuse as any to open it!

Dan stepped in as our final guest host while Alex has been away at the Fringe, and it’s safe to say he brought plenty of creativity to the quiz.

It’s back to regularly scheduled quizzing next Sunday, when Alex returns with tales from the Scottish capital - see you next Sunday at 7pm!
