Cheers :) Very much at the fore front of the real ale revolution in Britain, it was for many years Derby's only brew pub. Since the Brunswick Inn's re-opening in 1987, and the introduction of the brewer

y in 1991, both the inn and the brewery have collected multiple awards, both regional and national. The Brunswick Brewing Co and the Brunswick Inn are run separately, yet very much in conjunction with each other, and both are now well known country wide in real ale circles. The Brunswick Inn and its partner brewery truly are a mecca for good quality cask ale.

Hello ale fans! It’s been a loooong 5 months, but it looks like we’re back in business! Full day cleaning with hopefully the first brew tomorrow. Big thanks to Lanemark and ADI engineering co‘s for the work, we know it’s not been easy! Normal service should resume in the next 3-4 weeks (we’ve got a lot of restocking to do). Watch this space for updates :)

More great news, though a little late! For those that haven’t yet heard, the Brunswick Inn has won Derby CAMRA pub of the year 2026! As well as picking up cider pub of the year for the 10th year running! That's a clean sweep between the Brunny and the Poets for 2026. Big hand to Alan, Philippe and all the great staff at the Brunny. Cheers :)

A bit of good news whilst we're waiting for the brewery to be repaired, the sister pub to the Brunswick Inn, The Dead Poets Inn has been awarded Amber Valley CAMRA's pub of the year 2026!! That's 3 years in a row! As well as that awesome accolade the Poets has also been awarded Amber Valley CAMRA's cider pub of the year 2026!! The double and the 3peat :) Thanks to Amber Valley CAMRA, as well as all the cracking staff and amazing customers that have made this possible. The presentation is pegged for the 1st Thursday in March but we'll confirm that, come on down for some celebrations and some free beer ;)

Hello beer fans, and a happy New Year to you all :)

You may be aware that we've been a bit quiet recently, and we know that the rumours are flying, but we thought we'd let everyone know that the talk of our demise has been greatly exaggerated! We've had some mechanical issues (the burner has packed up, not surprising as the old girl is at least 35 years old!), so we've been looking at potential repair/replacements, which itself has raised a whole host of logistical issues (grade 2 listed buildings come with their own problems!), but we can now confirm that repairs are on the cards, fingers crossed we should be back up and running by the end of Jan, maybe early Feb (there's a lot of engineering works to be done). Then we'll be brewing like maniacs to get fully stocked again, so it should be business as usual from March. We do have Brunswick beer stocked in our two pubs, the Brunswick Inn and the Dead Poets, but to make sure we don't run dry we are cutting down the free-trade till we're good to go. Thanks for all your patience, Derby's oldest brewery will be back firing on all cylinders soon. If anyone has any questions feel free to email us at [email protected] and we'll get back to you asap.

Cheers :)
