Kitchen Closure Notice 🍴

Due to being short staffed following a family bereavement, along with other members of staff being away on holiday, our kitchen will be closed from Thursday 30th July and will reopen as normal on Sunday 2nd August.

Our bar will remain open as usual from 12:30pm each day, so we’d still love to see you for a drink.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this time. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the kitchen on Sunday.

A Quick Message to Our Customers & Friends 🍻

We’ve become aware of a couple of rumours circulating recently, and we’d like to clear them up.

Firstly, there is a rumour that The Defford Arms is closing on the 21st of this month. This is completely false. We have no plans or intentions of closing and we’re continuing to work hard to make the pub a great place for everyone to enjoy.

If you ever hear anything about the pub, please don’t believe it unless it comes directly from us or one of our team behind the bar. Rumours can spread quickly, and we’d much rather you hear the facts from us.

Secondly, we’ve also heard that some people believe we’re running the pub on behalf of the previous owners. We’d like to clarify that this is not the case. Both The Defford Arms and Neilson Park are no longer owned by the previous owners who moved down south. We are independently running the business and are committed to its future.

We’d like to thank everyone who continues to support us. Your custom means a great deal, and we’re looking forward to welcoming you all for many more months and years to come.

🐄 A Little Goodbye… 🐄

Unfortunately, tomorrow morning (15th July), the Whole Moo World milk shed will be leaving us.

Despite the support from many of our regular customers, there simply hasn’t been enough consistent demand for it to remain viable at our location. This was a business decision made by Whole Moo World, and we completely understand the reasons behind it.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who used the milk shed over the past months and supported the small business produce it offered. We also want to thank the Whole Moo World team for giving us the opportunity to host it here at The Defford Arms.

We’re sorry to see it go and wish them every success for the future. 🥛❤️
