Because I am no longer under the yoke of Shepherd Neame and their insidious 100% wet tie. After running a tied house for 3 1/2 years I have a pretty good idea of what people want. By opening a micro pub I have the opportunity to source quality and value across a huge range of ales, lagers and wines. Put all that in a comfortable pub add like minded people and stir gently and you get the Freed Man.

Some people may be unaware that our real ale is flowing strongly again after issues with the fridge. We always have a bitter a couple of pales and a dark on cask plus some good keg offerings as well as great wine. We are independent so if you are bored with the homogeneous dross served by the tied and pubco pubs come and check us out.
