Went with the Brown Cow 😊 I opted for the smaller portion of pie with not being to good but i cant lie it was certainly enough for me 👌 Lovely Pie 🥧

An update on the road closure at the front of us.... ITS NOW OPEN... no need for big detours etc. Remember open from 10am everyday for food and drink 👍🍻 Beer garden is ready but we are just waiting on the sun to show up 🌞 ☀️

So here we go again.. They have closed a section of Abbey Rd outside Chequers Lodge towards The Red Lion Dalton - Red Lion Rooms at the Market St junction. So for reference we are open as usual, Chequers Lodge & the car wash are all open. If you are coming from Ulverston or Askam unfortunately you have to take a little detour around the estate or via the bypass towards Barrow and up the old Park Rd.

UPDATE... This is going to be a nightmare 😕 😞

JOB OPENING FOR A HOUSEKEEPER

Job Description:

Family run businesses looking for a cleaner with experience to work alongside us.
Duties will be divided between the two pubs/small hotel.
Duties will include cleaning bar, restaurant and beer garden areas and servicing accommodation as required.
Washing and ironing of bed linen etc.
Accommodation at one pub includes a cottage and apartment and the other one has 6 ensuite rooms varying in sizes.
Would suite a person with chambermaid experience to work on a rota system with a colleague to cover weekly schedule.

Start time is 7:30am, 8am at the latest and includes mid week and weekend work. Hours are worked over 4 days on a rota system. Each day can be a different amount of hours depending on accommodation and laundry that needs doing so it can be from 5 to 8 hours a day, averaging around 20/25 hours week. Shifts include midweek and weekends.

Candidates must be able to start around 7.30am and have no problems working weekends and school holidays starting at the same time 7.30am

Previous experience essential.
