BE RYTE ‘26! A time was had by us lot…

What an absolute triumph of a day up on the Rec! The Fete Committee truly outdid themselves with this one. It was pure local magic from start to finish. 😎

I actually managed to escape the pumps and snag a whole day off to touch grass, wet my whistle, and soak up the pure community magic. And look who I bumped into! None other than the wonderful, excellent Daz and Gaz from The In-Here Brothers! (Yes, I forced them into a dual-thumbs-up photo sandwhich, like a proper fan. No, I am not sorry.) 🤣😊🧡

The beer was flowing beautifully, the bands were on absolute top form, and the crowd was spectacular. Crich paradise at its finest! A massive shoutout to everyone who put their heart and soul into organizing it… So very grateful.

I’m back behind the bar now, ready and raring, so if you’ve still got some festival energy left in thee, get thee sen up to Town End later for a pint to round off the weekend! ✊🏻☺️🌞

Right, listen up. You’ve probably seen me on here a lot this week, but I promise this one’s worth two minutes of your time… 😊😎♥️

Our Malc and Dave have finally joined the modern world and got themselves a page. And about time too! If you’ve ever had a night out at The Cliff when these two are playing, you’ll know they are absolute gold. Proper gents, hilarious characters, and they can play an absolute blinder of a set. We’re talking everything from R.E.M. and The Stone Roses to a bit of Bob Marley, Crowded House, and proper indie-folk classics. If it’s a cracking tune, they’ll play it. You have my word on that one. 🎵😎

As you can see from that close-up of Malc giving the microphone the absolute eyes, they don’t do things by ‘alves! 😂😜✊🏻 They’ve played at my birthday party, they rocked our mate Ady’s 60th down in Whatstandwell recently (have a look at the photos!), and they brighten up any place they walk into…

Proper showmen who know exactly how to get everyone up and singing. They’re dear friends of ours and if you’ve got a party or a “do” coming up, or just want a general laugh and a belting time - trust me, you want them booked. Simple as that.

Crich folk. Here’s one for you! 😎😜✊🏻

You’re being treated by the brilliant local people to a cracking, exciting, new outside-the-box festival. “BE RYTE” in other words… “Be raaaate.” It’s just around the corner! A time to be had indeed. 😊🎵

More than anything, this afternoon is a massive celebration of our village and a huge thank you, as always, to the legendary lot that is The Crich Village Fete committee. They put their hearts into making Crich a brilliant place to live, and this brand-new music event is their latest masterpiece. Exciting just int the word. 😆

Get thee sen down to the Rec this Saturday. Do it for Yorkshire! Or should I say Crich… 😉 We’ve got a fantastic lineup of local musicians, including our good friends - the excellent Daz and Gaz who make up The In-Here Brothers. As well as a fully stocked bar to wet your whistles and not to mention, some hearty scran.

On a personal note, I’ve only been back in the village for a year, but this fete lot have honestly made me feel completely a part of the village again. The welcome and the community spirit they build is second to none, and we are so lucky to have them. 😊♥️

It kicks off at 1:30pm ish. Dust off your camping chairs, grab your rugs, you know the drill… Let's show the committee some massive local love!

A little appreciation post for the absolute powerhouse that is Colette, Mick, and the incredible team at The Barley Mow at Bonsall. Let’s be right - they don’t call themselves the for nothing… 😉

Escaping the bar is like trying to pull off a great escape. But whenever we manage to tunnel out, there is only one destination: the brilliant Barley Mow at Bonsall. It takes a lot of hard graft, late nights, and a bit of madness to run a traditional local… And nobody embodies that beautifully chaotic spirit quite like my wonderful friends Colette and Mick. 😎😊♥️

Mowfest was a prime example of why this place is an institution. Cracking bands, beautiful people, top-tier music, and a proper pub atmosphere. What more could you honestly ask for? (Apart from a new pair of knees after all that dancing.) 😂😜💃🏼

Everyone who knows Colette knows she is truly a brilliant woman. End of story. A true character of this world - a fabulous musician, welcoming as can be, quirky, kind, fun, as well as being a total force of nature who does things her own way.

Watching her, Mick, and their excellent staff keeping the cogs turning while making everyone feel like family is a masterclass in what a real pub should be. And I’m sure I’m in a long line of people when I say that. When Colette caught up with me and said she was proud of me, it stopped me in my tracks. Coming from a legend, that meant everything.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you Colette and Mick. Thank you for putting your absolute hearts and souls into creating something so special for everyone - bringing every single generation together under one brilliant roof. You’re the real deal. And that is something I truly mean.

After what has been a super busy August at The Cliff Inn, we’re heading out for the day today to enjoy a well-earned break! 🍻🎶

Because of this, we’ll be running a limited menu today for our customers.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we really appreciate your understanding and continued support - August has been absolutely brilliant, and it’s all thanks to you! 😎♥️

Normal service and our full menu will be back as usual.

I’ve been aggressively scrolling through my camera roll for days trying to find photos from last weekend, and I’ve come to a devastating conclusion: I have almost none. 😂

Why? Because absolutely everyone was having far too much fun to care about phones! 😜 Crossroads BAND were completely fabulous (as I’m sure you saw in my last post). Plus, for the ultimate Sunday Funday, we were treated to the pure Irish brilliance of J.J Galway - all thanks to our amazing friends Donna and Nicola celebrating their 50th birthday up here… ✊🏻😎

We are so incredibly grateful and hope they had the absolute best birthday ever - it is officially one for the history books. And that’s for sure. Since I have zero photo evidence of the actual madness, you’re just getting this lovely picture from Sunday’s madness. 😬😊♥️

But guess what? The Crossroads World Tour of Crich continues! They are back this Saturday to treat us all over at the excellent Comrades Club Crich. It is such a great place and as we know, Crossroads are a fabulous band - so everyone needs to get themselves down there! 😎🎵

Come up this weekend - it is bank holiday after all! enjoy the usual Thursday night service, spend your hard-earned cash, (if you feel like it, of course 😉 I am not one for peer pressure!) and join us lot for a proper laugh and a proper craic! See you there friends…. 😜😁✊🏻

Round 2 of absolute musical madness at The Cliff Inn… and my goodness, Crossroads BAND did NOT disappoint! 😎

We were treated to a total masterclass in rock and blues. A massive thank you to the powerhouse that is Crossroads! Cracking people. Cracking times. You were just fabulous. Much love to you! 🤘🏻😊

But let’s be honest… With a bit of peer pressure and a coincidental song choice - the absolute highlight of the night has to be the return of a legend. TEACH MADE A COMEBACK! ♠️😎😂

But this time we were treated to a literal head-to-head showdown. Teach vs. Andy, battling it out to Ace of Spades using the classic garden spade. Or in other words, his “Fender spade-a-caster” as local and pal, Rob commented last time. It was so, so funny and pure, genuine rock ‘n’ roll gold. 😜😎🎵

I’m sure I’m speaking for everyone when I say this: one story - as well as many others from this little quirky pub to go down in Crich history for sure….

It’s been an unbelievably busy, brilliant night and it’s been everything we wanted and more. A massive thank you to everyone for their continuous kind words, love, custom and support. As well as all that came down and made it such a belter of a time. We appreciate and love you all. And that is something I truly mean.

🎉 A little change to today’s kitchen hours! 🍽️

We’re making a hot buffet this afternoon for a 30th birthday celebration, so our kitchen will be open today until 3pm only.

After that, we’ll be getting everything ready for a great night at The Cliff Inn! 🍻🎶
