Seriously… let us know in the comments, because apparently we need to talk about Gem Squash.

We pride ourselves on being one of the highest-rated Biltong companies on Trustpilot, so when a one-star review lands, we don’t just ignore it. We investigate.

After reading this particular review, though, the whole office was slightly confused.

So, naturally, we weighed our gems.

200g.
250g.
300g.

Everything was looking pretty normal…

UNTIL WE FOUND THIS ABSOLUTE UNIT.

Well… maybe “unit” is being generous.

It’s tiny.
It’s squishy.
It’s not ripe.
And quite frankly, it has brought shame upon the entire Gem Squash community. 😂

This little fella absolutely would not meet our standards, and we wouldn’t sell it.

We only want to give our customers the best produce we can get our hands on — whether that’s our Biltong or the humble Gem Squash.

So when the review suggested you’d receive 14 gems in a kilo, you can probably understand why we were scratching our heads.

Unless we’ve accidentally started selling Fun-Size Gem Squash, you should be getting around FOUR GEMS PER KILO, as stated on our website.

So, if four normal, respectable, law-abiding Gem Squashes per kilo sounds more like your thing, pop in and see us or order online. 😂

And please…

Say a little prayer for the tiny one. He didn’t make the cut. 🫡

**🍽️ Pronutro Update!

Hey ProNutro fans! We've got some bittersweet news to share from the folks behind your favorite breakfast. Grab your spoons, because it’s quite the story!

So, here’s the scoop: The Pronutro producers decided to build a shiny new factory because, let’s face it, the old one was as ancient as your grandma’s secret cookie recipe! 🏭 After closing the old factory last October, the new one opened its doors in March, ready to whip up the beloved cereal.

But here’s where things get a little messy despite their best intentions, the new factory couldn’t replicate the magic of the old Pronutro. 🙈 It turns out, changing the texture and recipe wasn’t the grand slam they thought it would be. They assumed the younger generation would embrace the new formula with open arms, forgetting that the old recipe held a special place in the hearts (and stomachs) of many!

As a result, the re-launch didn’t quite go as planned, and now the company is in damage control mode. Unfortunately, we’ve just learned that there will be no Pronutro for the rest of this year. And let’s not even talk about the dismantled old factory; going back to the classic formula is off the table. 😢

We promise to keep you updated as we hear more, but for now, let’s share our fondest Pronutro memories while we wait! Stay tuned, and may our breakfast bowls be filled with hope for a delicious Pronutro comeback! 💖

😎😎YES WE HAVE GREN GEMS BACK IN STOCK 😎😎
This year’s weather has been playing tricks on us, making most of the Gems ripen faster than they should but still tasty, just not their usual selves. But fear not! The proper Green and Green as can be Gems have heroically returned, with a whopping 950kg ready to brighten your day. Just remember, once they vanish, it’s like socks in the dryer gone for good!
Yes we still have a few of the riper ones available at a massively reduced rate but if you want Green we got them as well!
