Film Club is now homeless, but that means we get to talk film at some other wonderful venues!

This time, we'll be meeting at Tom's Tap and Brewhouse 2pm on Sunday the 20th.

The film we'll be discussing is Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Cameron, 1991) and the topic for the next film is Autumn/Spooky!

Anyone is free to come along and have a natter about some great movies 🎬☕♥️

Did you know that our Louise has written a book and is hosting her book launch at Tom's Tap on September 24th??

Louise will be talking about her book 'A Therapeutic Workbook for Supporting the Wellbeing of Neurodivergent Clients' and what she’s learnt about supporting neurodivergent humans (including herself). Hint: (It's Not Just) Emotional Feelings

This sounds like a cracking day out

Morning

This Saturday I’ll be heading over to Crewe, a Cheshire railway town best known for the huge part it played in the development of Britain’s railways. The arrival of the railway in the 1830s transformed Crewe, with the town later becoming famous for its locomotive works and one of the country’s major railway junctions.

I’ll be starting the day at the Crewe Rail Ale Festival, which returns to Crewe Heritage Centre for 2026 and is organised by South Cheshire CAMRA. It’s a brilliant setting for a beer festival, surrounded by historic locomotives, working signal boxes, railway exhibits and the famous Advanced Passenger Train. There will be more than 60 real ales, ciders and perries across cask and keg, and this year the festival is also hosting the regional judging of the Premium Bitters category for CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain.

After spending some time at the festival and sampling a few of the beers, I’ll be heading out into Crewe to explore a selection of pubs around the town during the afternoon and evening.

It should be a cracking day combining two things Crewe is particularly well known for — railways and good beer! 🍻
