Happy 86th Birthday, Rosemary! 🎉💙

We had a lovely celebration at Grove House as Rosemary’s family kindly brought in a beautiful cake and decorations to help make her day extra special.

Our team were all hands on deck, transforming the dining room with blue and white bunting, balloons, table decorations and a wonderful Coventry City themed cake — perfect for Rosemary’s special day.

It was a real pleasure to come together with family, residents and staff to celebrate such a lovely occasion. Birthdays are always special, but it’s the little thoughtful touches and shared moments that make them truly memorable.

Wishing Rosemary a very happy 86th birthday from everyone at Grove House Care Home. 💙

When the weather is this warm, sometimes a roast dinner just has to wait! ☀️

This week at Grove House, we swapped the traditional Sunday roast for a lovely fresh chicken salad, served with fresh cut bread and a selection of tasty sides.

It was the perfect lighter lunch for a hot day, still full of flavour and prepared with care by our wonderful kitchen team.

Keeping everyone comfortable, cool and well-fed is always our priority — and judging by these plates, this was definitely a popular choice! 🥗🍞

Fun with music and movement at Grove House. 🎶

Our residents enjoyed a lovely lively session filled with music, smiles and plenty of rhythm. From shaking tambourines to joining in with familiar sounds, it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved in their own way.

Activities like this are not only great fun, they also help support movement, coordination, memory and wellbeing. Music can bring back happy memories, lift spirits and create those lovely moments of connection between residents and staff.

A simple afternoon of music, movement and laughter — just what we love to see at Grove House. 💛

Happy Birthday (s)!……

Like busses…you wait a long time for one and then three come along all at once! Well that has been the story of Birthdays at Grove House this month. So we say a very Happy Birthday to Mary, Gerry, and Joan, all of whom have celebrated their special day recently.

Needless to say the home has been full of cards,, presents and of course cake! They would all like to say a big thank you to everyone who made their special days so enjoyable.

Happy Mother’s Day from Grove House....

At Grove House Care Home, our lovely mums are being showered with love, receiving cards, flowers, and visits from family and friends—making this day extra special.

Today, we celebrate all the wonderful mums, past and present, and we take a moment to remember those who are no longer with us but remain forever in our hearts. 💕

What a lovely Valentine’s celebration at Grove House...

Yesterday was all about togetherness, smiles, and making memories. Our lounge looked beautiful with red heart decorations and petals, the tables were set with Valentine’s touches, and everyone enjoyed spending time in great company. 🌹

We tucked into a delicious meal, followed by plenty of homemade treats (a real highlight!) — and most importantly, shared a day full of warmth, laughter, and connection between residents and staff.

Thank you to our fantastic team for making the day feel so special for everyone. 💕

Healthy(ish) Lunch!

We like to offer our residents a nutritious and balanced diet, making sure they eat lots of fresh healthy food, whilst ensuring they get to enjoy some treats and the things they love most.

So last Friday everyone enjoyed a bit of a combination meal - a tasty chicken salad, with sides of potato salad , coleslaw and beetroot, and for those seeking a treat - some chips on the side.

The meal was in response to resident requests - so it was great to be able to deliver exactly what they ordered!

Staying Active……

Mobility and general fitness is increasingly difficult to maintain as we get older - particularly if our movement is reduced due to medical conditions, or simply increased frailty.

So at Grove House we hold regular Keep Fit sessions, helping our residents to stay as fit and active as possible. Very often chair based, these sessions are a great way of keeping limbs moving, brains engaged, and also introducing fun into the process of staying active.

You don’t need a Gym, just a great instructor and some residents up fora challenge and some good fun!
