🟡🔵 Mini and junior rugby returns on Sunday 6 September 🔵🟡

If you’re looking to get your child into a sport that creates lifelong friendships, fitness and loads of fun, give rugby a try!

On Sunday our club will be brimming with kids from U6-U18, all with smiles on their faces.

If you’re new to rugby and interested in joining our U6s, scan the QR code to join the chat with other parents and coaches. It could be the best decision you ever make. 🔵🟡

🔵🟡 Exciting stuff is happening at Barkers 🔵🟡

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we’re able to offer every eligible U7-U16 member a free playing shirt! That’s around 400 shirts given out across our M&J section.

And, you might have noticed a slight change in our colour scheme for our playing shirts. We’re going back to our heritage with royal blue and yellow, the colours we originated from.

If you’d like to find out how you can join the biggest M&J section in Coventry, join us at the club on Sunday 6 September from 9am. New members always welcome 💙💛

💙💛 More sad news for our club on the passing of a brilliant clubman and friend to many, Guy Oakley.

Guy passed away peacefully on 1 August 2026 and will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.

Guy was devoted to his family and couldn’t have been happier than the day his son Zak joined Barkers and started a successful rugby career. Guy loved watching rugby and being at the club. He would always volunteer to help out and support however he could. He even tiled the ladies toilets, generously donating his time and all the materials.

Guy, Claire, Zak & Poppy enjoyed many special times at the club and would love to invite their friends to join them to celebrate Guy’s life. His funeral service will take place on Thursday 27 August 2026 in Cannon Hill Chapel, Canley Crematorium at 12:45 pm.

Family flowers only please, but donations if desired in Guy's memory to Coventry Myton Hospice on the day via the collection box at the service. Guy’s friends have also started a GoFundMe link if anyone would like to support https://gofund.me/7c5f90132 💛💙

💛💙 Join us at the club on Friday 21 August from 2.30pm to celebrate the life of one of our brilliant and talented player coaches Steve Hall.

Steve passed away on 9 July at the age of 68. A former player at Coventry Rugby club, Steve joined Barkers as a player in the 80s and 90s and then carried on as a coach for the first team alongside our President Glenn Southwell. Steve was a great clubman and had a brilliant insight into the game. He will be sadly missed and our thoughts go out to his family.

Steve’s funeral will be held on 21 August at 13.45, at Canley Crematorium. Steve's family would like to invite Steve's friends back to Barkers' to raise a glass to this wonderful man. 💙💛

A massive well done to these lads who were selected for their commitment, attitude and influence, on and off the pitch. They’re setting the standards we want across the Colts group for 26/27.

If you’re interested in joining our Colts, new players are always welcome. Pop along to training every Tuesday & Thursday from 6.45-8.30pm 💙💛
