Yesterday didn't go the way any of us had hoped.

After a morning full of excitement, nerves, anticipation, pride, happiness and a few anxious moments, the decision was made by the GoSkydive instructors to cancel the remainder of today's jumps. With winds reaching around 23 knots and dust devils forming across the airfield, they had no choice but to put safety first.

Of course, we're all disappointed and feeling a little deflated. We'd spent months preparing for this moment, and after raising an incredible amount for Myton Hospices, we were ready to take that leap together. But the weather is one thing none of us can control, and we'd much rather wait for the right conditions than take unnecessary risks.
I want to say a huge thank you to every single one of our amazing participants. You've shown incredible commitment, courage and community spirit throughout this journey, and today doesn't change that. You're still absolute legends.

Thank you as well to everyone who came down to support us, whether you travelled on the coach or made your own way to the airfield. Seeing so many familiar faces cheering us on meant more than you'll ever know.

We'll take the positives from today and leave the negatives behind. This challenge isn't over—it's simply been postponed.

We will complete the skydive, and as soon as GoSkydive confirm a new date, I'll let everyone know straight away.

Thank you all for your continued support, patience and understanding. The finish line has moved, but our goal hasn't.

4 Days To Go...

Four days and the 25th will be here!

Just four days until 23 ordinary people join me to do something extraordinary.

If I'm honest...

I'm feeling a mixture of emotions.

Proud.

Grateful.

Excited.

A little nervous.

But more than anything...

I'm overwhelmed.

When we first spoke about doing a charity skydive, after the abseil last year none of us imagined it would become this, especially me.

What started as a crazy conversation in the pub has grown into a community coming together for one incredible cause.

Twenty-four amazing people have all said the same thing...

"I'll do it."

Some have never flown before.

Some are scared of heights.

Some are pushing themselves far beyond their comfort zone.

Yet every single one of them is jumping for someone else.

That makes me incredibly proud.

I'm proud of every skydiver.

Proud of everyone who's encouraged them.

Proud of every person who's bought a raffle ticket, donated online, sponsored a jumper or simply shared one of our posts.

Every act of kindness has brought us closer to making a real difference.

This isn't about being fearless.

It's about having the courage to do something that matters.

In just four days...

We'll step onto that plane.

We'll look out at the world below.

We'll take a deep breath.

And together...

We'll take the leap.

Not for ourselves.

But for every family who needs Myton Hospice.

So from me to all of you

Thank you.

Thank you for believing in us.

Thank you for standing beside us.

And thank you for helping prove what a community can achieve when people come together.

Four days to go.

This will be a day know one forgets!

❤️

What a Saturday we've got lined up!

We kick things off this afternoon with England vs Fiji, so grab a pint, settle in and cheer the boys on.

Then it's over to our resident DJs for another edition of the V's Series, where two music genres go head-to-head in a battle for dancefloor supremacy.

At 10pm, we'll hit pause on the music and switch our attention to the football as England take on Norway in the World Cup quarter-final. Fingers crossed we're celebrating a place in the semi-finals by the end of the night!

Not into the sport? No problem at all. Escape to our own little hidden oasis in the beer garden, where you can soak up the sunshine, enjoy a drink, and unwind to a chilled soundtrack away from the crowds.

Whatever your Saturday looks like, we've got a spot waiting for you at The Horseshoes.
