🏆 Well… we really weren’t expecting this.
The Crown Inn has been named a finalist for Inn of the Year at the Welsh Hospitality Awards 2026.
And we’re genuinely a little bit overwhelmed.
We took over The Crown less than a year ago with a fairly simple hope: to look after this wonderful old pub, make it somewhere the village could be proud of, and give the people who find their way here a reason to want to come back.
We certainly didn't expect, less than twelve months later, to find ourselves shortlisted alongside some truly fantastic Welsh inns.
So this feels like a good moment for our slightly premature Oscar speech…
We'd like to thank our wonderful team, who have thrown themselves into this adventure with us.
Our locals, who've supported us, encouraged us and made The Crown feel like a proper village pub.
Our campers and visitors, who've travelled from near and very far to our little corner of North Wales.
And every single person who's eaten here, had a pint here, stayed with us, left us a lovely review, recommended us to somebody or simply walked through the door and said, “This is a lovely place.”
Thank you. We really do mean it. ❤️
There are much bigger, grander and longer-established businesses amongst the finalists, so simply seeing The Crown Inn, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr on that list feels rather special.
We're incredibly proud of what our little team has achieved.
And if by some miracle they actually call our name on the night, we promise to keep the acceptance speech under 45 minutes.
