Sunday lunch doesn’t have to mean a roast…

We do sizzling chicken and lamb straight from the charcoal grill, big mixed grills, seabass, halloumi, mezze, warm Turkish bread and plates made for picking at, sharing and arguing over who gets the last bit.

So if you fancy something a bit more exciting this Sunday, get your table booked and come hungry.

Then from 4.30pm Hannah Woof makes her first appearance at the Jockey with live music Under Canvas.

Good food, a few drinks, live music… sounds like a much better Sunday to us.

Well… the sun made an appearance yesterday and so did plenty of you.

Another fantastic early doors session, exactly what Saturdays at the Jockey should look like.

And we’re doing it all again today.

Hannah Woof makes her first appearance with us from 4.30pm, so come and grab some food, a drink and finish the weekend properly.

Live music, Sunday afternoon and no late night required.

Lee & Dunc are back again today, and we just know they’re going to love our brand new stage Under Canvas…

Whether we’ll get them off it is another matter.

Our first weekend Under the Canvas went down a treat, and we can’t wait to get everyone back under there again.

Saturday at 6pm sees the return of Lee & Dunc, then on Sunday at 4.30pm it’s Hannah Woof’s first time at the Jockey. Let’s show her why we love our Sunday afternoons.

And don’t eat before you come. Chicken and lamb shish fresh off the charcoal grill, mezze for the table, a sharing platter for 2 or 4?… If you haven’t found our new covered space yet, head round the back, it looks fantastic!

Thursday Behind the Dish…

This week we’re giving you a little sneak peek at something from our brand new menu, launching at the end of this month.

Vegetarian Moussaka.

Moussaka has been a favourite across the Mediterranean for generations, with different versions found in Greece, Turkey and across the Balkans. Basically, it’s proper comfort food — layers, rich flavours and exactly the sort of thing you want as the nights start drawing in.

Our vegetarian version is layered with aubergine, potato and a rich tomato and vegetable filling, topped with creamy béchamel and baked until golden.

It’ll officially be joining the new menu at the end of the month, but we’ve decided you shouldn’t have to wait that long… so it’s on as a special now.

And before the meat eaters scroll past — give it a chance.

This one is definitely not just for the vegetarians.

Banging out all the 80’s belters you swear you don’t know… right up until the chorus kicks in.

Expect big tunes, a few drinks, something decent off the grill and plenty of “go on then, one more”.

Best bit? We’re starting early, so you can have a proper night out and still be home before you start regretting your life choices on Sunday morning.

Local night out. 80’s tunes, no need to buy tickets and no taxi home at 2am required.

I know we’re new to all this… but Christmas in September???

Absolutely not.

We’ve got a new w**e menu, a new autumn/winter food menu, Paint & Sip, live music weekends, Soul Night, cheese & w**e nights, a classic car meet, our Harvest Festival and more still being added.

And we haven’t even got to Halloween yet.

Let’s get pumpkin season out the way first.

Christmas can wait its turn.
