ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT... Sloe Train Blues Band! 💥

📍 The Muni Theatre
🗓️ Friday 28th August
⏰ 18:30 - 19:30

“In a music landscape packed with bands all too often working the classics, it’s great to hear a band delivering strong original material.” Nick Mason, Pink Floyd

Established in 2014, Sloe Train is a classic five-piece band playing driving original blues-infused tunes. Recording and releasing their first album in 2017, the band have become veterans of the national blues circuit, performing at a variety of festivals and venues both before and after COVID.

Founded by drummer Chris McCormack and Keyboards player Chris Burrows and Pete Carlisle on Lead Vocals sharing a mutual love of Joe Bonamassa (Tracks from whom the band takes it name), the band was joined by bassist Tony Ecclestone in 2016. The current lineup was then cemented in March 2025 with the addition of András Droppa, Dr Wart Hoover’s Blues Artist of the Year 2024.

Gearing up for the release of their latest album ‘Kings of Saturday Night’ on the 14th July 2026, the band are eager to share this next stage in their musical evolution with the world! Expect driving grooves, introspective lyrics, and soaring solos all grounded in the dirty blues that brought the band together.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT... Celebrating Eva! 💥

📍 Colne Little Theatre
🗓️ Sunday 30th August
⏰ 20:45 - 21:45

A moving celebration of one of the most beloved voices of the last century, featuring classic hits from the Eva songbook, brought to life by Helen May (vocals/guitar) and accompanied by a group of the country's finest musicians.

Expect a show of pure musical beauty with jazz, soul and timeless ballads.

"The best and most authentic tribute to Eva I've ever heard or seen!"

Eva Cassidy was an American singer and guitarist known for her soulful interpretations of jazz, blues, folk, and pop songs. Born in 1963 in Maryland, she gained local recognition for her powerful, emotive voice and her ability to reinterpret classics with deep sensitivity.

During her lifetime, she didn’t achieve widespread fame, as she preferred small performances and avoided the commercial music scene. Sadly, she passed away in 1996 at just 33 years old from melanoma.

Her posthumous fame grew after the release of the compilation album Songbird in 1998, which showcased her stunning renditions of songs like Fields of Gold and Over the Rainbow. Her music later reached international audiences, especially after being featured on BBC Radio, leading to chart success in the UK and beyond.

Eva Cassidy is now celebrated as one of the most expressive and timeless vocalists of her generation, admired for her purity of tone and emotional honesty.

HEADLINER ANNOUNCEMENT... Lightnin' Willie and the Poorboys! 💥

📍 The Muni Theatre
🗓️ Saturday 29th August
⏰ 22:00 - 23:00

Two-time winner of the Southern California Blues Challenge, Lightnin' Willie has a distinctive approach to his music. The sound is an irresistible blend of tradition and spontaneous creativity, with a deliciously insidious emphasis on the groove. It is a compelling, hard-swinging brand of blues that, whenever he performs, packs the floor - his audience can't help but dance.

A guitarist of impressive facility, a vocalist of coolly stylish authority, and a composer of persuasive original blues that both extend and enhance the idiom, Willie's music has a rare individualistic quality. It is at once airy and full of open space, yet loaded with earthy, intense emotion.

Lightnin' Willie has gone from low-down beer joints to become a staple on the international festival circuit, with plenty of wild stops along the way, from London's Royal Albert Hall Ignite Series to Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic.

The always dapper Lightnin' Willie - consistently genuine, never flashy, and boundlessly entertaining - is reliably a high-quality blues powerhouse who makes new fans with every performance.
