The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak The Royal Oak or The Dicky to local's is a beautiful country pub. Set in the Suffolk countryside in East End, East Bergholt. A food offering is planned.

The Dicky As this beautiful 1800's Suffolk pub is known by locals and regulars. Thought to stem from its previous name, The Kicking Donkey Beer House. The Royal Oak Inn is effectionatly known as The Dicky, meaning donkey in Suffolk dialect. Cask ale has a loyal following at The Royal Oak. The three traditional hand pulls allow for us to offer a range of cask ales, offering something for everyone.

Currently on tap; Green King Abbot Ale, Green King IPA with London Pride potentially appearing this weekend. New managment... Tom Brown has taken over management of The Royal Oak. The pub has been given a fresh lick of paint and a spring clean. The artwork throughout the pub is courtesy of Catalina Carvajal.

Dear D-Alexander G,

How rude! There’s no need for that kind of language, especially on a Sunday!
After reviewing & investigating your complaint thoroughly, I’m happy to respond with the following.

The landlord of the pub stated that you arrived at the pub early afternoon and were directed to a spot that you could park your rather large motor home. You chose a spot in the well kept garden, set back adequately from the pub as to ensure you and your family had a pleasant and restful stay.
The landlord stated that you made two visits that he can remember. One to gather water for your amenities and a further for your family of two adults and two children to use the toilets.

The landlord stated that to his and his dogs knowledge, at no time did you enter the pub to complete a transaction, with regards to liquid refreshment. Nor did you offer a donation, of any amount too charity.

After viewing the host’s profile, it is clear that these are the only two stipulations required in return of services offered.

The landlord stated that, after standing at the the bar, eagerly awaiting one of the above mentioned stipulations to come to fruition, long into the night, to no avail. He then overslept…..

The runners will be starting from East Bergholt cricket club and finishing at The Royal Oak/ Dicky.
Runners will be taking cash donations but also have a QR code that allows you to donate by card.

A tank from the 1960s will be at The Royal Oak pub, also known as The Dicky, in East Bergholt on May bank holiday Monday.
