The Royal Oak

The Royal Oak The Royal Oak or The Dicky to local's is a beautiful country pub. Set in the Suffolk countryside in East End, East Bergholt. A food offering is planned.

The Dicky As this beautiful 1800's Suffolk pub is known by locals and regulars. Thought to stem from its previous name, The Kicking Donkey Beer House. The Royal Oak Inn is effectionatly known as The Dicky, meaning donkey in Suffolk dialect. Cask ale has a loyal following at The Royal Oak. The three traditional hand pulls allow for us to offer a range of cask ales, offering something for everyone.

Currently on tap; Green King Abbot Ale, Green King IPA with London Pride potentially appearing this weekend. New managment... Tom Brown has taken over management of The Royal Oak. The pub has been given a fresh lick of paint and a spring clean. The artwork throughout the pub is courtesy of Catalina Carvajal.

Every Thursday at The Dicky means the return of Pizza Paul.He starts when he’s ready (usually around 5pm) and he finish when he’s had enough (7:30pm ish).

On her third week; Pie n Pud will be back on Friday from 6pm. There's scotch eggs and sausage rolls or apple pie and bread pudding! Proving most popular are her pies though. Mash, peas and gravy provided at the bar, have proved a hit!

It’s the last Friday of the month. BYOV should kick off around 8pm. Guest host tbc!

Lots on this week at The Dicky; last weeks football delayed the pub quiz, so today (Wednesday) we’ll be quizzing from 8pm and playing vinyl after that.

We’re here at Tattingstone Village Fete. Cold beer, music & plenty of stalls all day.

The Dicky is open until 5:30pm when we’ll take afew hours to reconvene before opening at 9:30pm for the football!

Thank you to everyone that helped make it an amazing day.
A valiant effort was made to consume to 11 cask ales available!
We have limited supplies of afew left.

Too acknowledge all those amazing dads out there this Father’s Day, the first 15 dad’s through the door tomorrow have a drink on me.

The Dicky scratch cards will be out as usual for the stragglers….
