Adnams is bringing back Extra as an autumnal seasonal on draught ahead of National Cask Ale Week in September. This historic brew will also be available in cans for the first time ever.

Extra, an uncompromisingly hoppy Extra Special Bitter from the historic Adnams brewing books, returns as an autumnal seasonal. It is remembered for its intense English hop character and thirst-quenching finish.

Much revered in the past because of the high levels of English Fuggle hops, Extra won the prestigious Champion B**r of Britain title at the 1993 Great British B**r Festival. It also made an appearance as a limited release for the inaugural Cask Ale Week in the early noughties and will be available on draught again for this year’s event. Cask Ale Week takes place from Thursday 17th to Sunday 27th September and is a celebration of Britain’s national drink and pubs as the place to enjoy it.

Adnams Extra Special Bitter is available on cask at the bar this autumn and for the first time in its history, it will be leaving the brewery in a format you can enjoy at home. A limited release of 440ml cans will be available online at adnams.co.uk and will also roll out to Adnams stores during week commencing 7th September; with all stores having stock by the weekend of the 12th September.

Timothy Taylor's unveils first brand refresh in a decade as part of its investment into the long-term future of cask 🍻

The refresh marks the next chapter for the independent family brewer, reflecting 168 years of evolution.

Independent family brewers, Timothy Taylor's Brewery, has unveiled its first major brand refresh in more than a decade as part of a long-term investment into the future of cask ale.

While the look is evolving, the b**r and brewing philosophy that have earned Timothy Taylor's the trust of generations of drinkers remain exactly the same.

The new identity includes an updated logo, pump clips, glassware and bottles.

It introduces a British racing green colour palette, informative b**r descriptions and more premium finishes, helping the range feel more distinctive and relevant without moving away from the heritage and character of the Timothy Taylor's name.

The refreshed identity has been designed to evolve the brand, improving visibility and standout at the bar to attract a new generation of drinkers, while retaining the distinctive elements that loyal Timothy Taylor’s drinkers know and value.

The brand refresh is part of the company's long-term investment into cask which includes a £9m investment in its brewery site over five years and £3m annually in marketing.

Additionally, Timothy Taylor’s continues to support pubs through its nationally-based business development manager team, who work closely with publicans and trade partners to deliver quality and consistency in every pint.

The brand refresh follows continued momentum for the brewer; with its flagship ale, Timothy Taylor's Landlord, continuing to grow its position as the UK’s best-selling cask ale brand by both value and volume.

As trade partners prepare to celebrate Britain’s national drink during National Cask Ale Week, the fresh new look for Timothy Taylor’s b**rs reflects the importance of quality, independence and accessibility that appeal as much to younger craft cask drinkers as it does to a traditional cask ale drinker.

A great pint begins in the cellar.

As part of Perfect Pint Promise accreditation, every venue undergoes an 11-point b**r and cellar hygiene audit, assessing storage conditions, hygiene, and operational best practice. The process helps identify issues before they affect the b**r in the glass, giving teams the knowledge and support to maintain consistently high standards.

Because a better-managed cellar is the foundation of a better pint.
