Thank you to Justine, our lovely next door neighbour who, as fortune would have it, is an experienced ex-publican, and has kindly agreed to help out on the odd occasion.

Proper old fashioned pub with emphasis on ever-changing range of real ales, in heart of Colchester City centre, just 5 mins walk from the shops and train station. Free to hire function room and beer garden.

I’m having a bit of a clear out and seem to have collected 3 guitars over the years and have no idea who they belong to. Can the owners please arrange to come and collect, send private message first. Otherwise off they go to a charity shop. Either that, or we start a band!

On 6th October 2025, I took a leap and stepped into the role of landlady at The New Inn. Eight months later, the time has come for me to move on to my next chapter.

These past months have been truly incredible. I’ve built wonderful friendships, learned so much, and created memories and bonds I’ll always cherish.

I want to say a huge thank you to Mark Hanrahan for all of his support and guidance along the way (even when I’ve been a bit persistent!). With the pub now up for sale, it feels like the right time for me to step aside.

A big thank you as well to Sam and Katie for being such fantastic support behind the bar — I couldn’t have asked for better people by my side.

To my Mum, step-dad, brother, and sister — you’ve been my rock through every high and low. I’m so grateful for everything you’ve done for me.

And finally, to everyone who has supported me and taken the time to visit and back your local — thank you. It truly means the world, and I appreciate each and every one of you.
