Did you know our wonderful pub, the Hundred House Inn at Purslow, was built in 1685? It was run for over thirty-five years from about 1870 onwards by Edward Smith and, when the licence was renewed in 1901, the records reported that it had been in continuous use as an Inn for at least 165 years!

In 1891, the Hundred House was also the local magistrates’ court, sitting on the third Wednesday of each month at 12 noon. These court sessions finally stopped at the beginning of the 1914–1918 war. In 1905, the Earl of Powys leased the Hundred House to the People’s Refreshment House Association, finally selling it to them in 1926.

On the 25th November 2026, this year, it will have been under the same ownership for 30 years! 💞🥳💞

Here are our opening hours for this week - just note a slight tweak tomorrow, Tuesday - we are opening just a touch later at 5.30pm - we appreciate your understanding when we occasionally have to make changes!

Our Crying Tiger is a marinated and chargrilled 8oz rump steak with a Thai chilli and lime sauce served with sticky rice or hand cut chips (or both!)

Bank holiday is coming and we've made a tweak to our kitchen hours to accommodate family time for our wonderful chef, who definitely deserves a holiday too....so our kitchen will be closed this Sunday, (30th Aug).

But do feel free to get your tables booked for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings to make sure you don’t miss out!
