Apparently a Bank Holiday means you’re legally required to spend at least some of it in the pub. We don’t make the rules. 🤷‍♀️

And we’ve got a fairly decent excuse for you every day this weekend…

Radio Caroline are back hosting, so whether you fancy getting up and showing Clitheroe what you’ve got, or you’d much rather sit safely behind a pint and enjoy everyone else’s talents… come on down.
Free drink for anyone brave enough to perform. 🍺🎶

Pints, football and absolutely no unsolicited tactical advice whatsoever. 👀

Depending on your allegiance, come for the football or come for the emotional support. 😂

Our kitchen is serving all weekend until 8pm, with our sharing plates, nibbles and bigger bites ready for pre-match, mid-pint or “we only popped in for one and now we’re starving” situations.

And judging by the lovely reviews you lot have been giving the food lately, apparently we’re getting quite good at it. Who knew? 😏

So: live music, live football, good food, cold beer and a three-day weekend.

When we decided to introduce food at The Old School Rooms, we wanted it to feel just like the rest of the bar – relaxed, sociable and somewhere you could settle in for hours with good company, great drinks and plates made for sharing.

We’re only a couple of weeks in, so reading comments like these genuinely means the world to our team. Thank you to everyone who’s popped in, tried the menu, recommended us to friends or taken the time to leave a review. We read every single one.

📚 Well… you asked. We listened.

Since yesterday’s announcement we’ve had loads of messages asking, “Can we see the menu?”

So here it is.

Think small plates, big flavours, and even better company. 🌍🍷

Whether you’re popping in for a quick bite, making questionable decisions over a bottle of wine, or attempting the noble task of “we’ll just order a couple” before somehow ending up with half the menu… we’ve got you covered.

WE HAVE STARTED FOOD… 🍴🎉

After months (and months!!) of planning, tasting, tweaking and the odd “just one more sample for quality control”… it’s finally here.

Welcome to food at The Old School Rooms.

But don’t expect the usual pub menu.

Our food is all about sharing. Order a few plates, pile them in the middle of the table, pinch off your mate’s plate (it’s practically compulsory), discover a new favourite, and argue over who gets the last bite.

Whether it’s a date night, catching up with friends or fuelling a few well-earned pints, it’s designed to be relaxed, social and seriously tasty.

🚨 DRINK IT DRY ALERT 🚨

Our current guest ale, South Island by Saltaire Brewery, has received its marching orders. Not because it’s done anything wrong, mind you. We just need the pump for a new guest ale that’s waiting patiently in the wings.

So here’s the deal:

🍺 South Island Pale Ale
💷 £2.50 a pint
⏳ Until it’s gone

Think of it as a farewell tour. A final curtain call. The beer equivalent of helping a friend move house… except much more enjoyable and significantly less lifting.

At £2.50 a pint, we’d strongly advise against leaving this one to somebody else.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Then we’ll be welcoming a fresh face to the bar.

Help us clear the runway. Drink it dry. 🍻

The main bar tonight will be packed tighter than a team defending a 1-0 lead in the 89th minute, so we’re opening up the cavalry.

From 7:50pm, we’ll have the Function Room open with the match on the big(ger) screen for anyone still hunting for somewhere to watch England attempt to book their place in the World Cup Final.

So if you’ve left it late, your usual spot is rammed, or you’ve suddenly remembered there’s a World Cup semi-final on tonight, we’ve got you covered.

Doors open on the function room at 7:50pm. Turning up at 7:49pm and asking “any chance?” will be treated with the same optimism as a VAR check in England’s favour.

We’re happy to open for the game… but only if you’re planning on joining us, not just liking this post from bed! 😴🍻
