Tonight, we’re proud to announce that Wath Brow Hornets will once again in 2026 host a Charity Day — not just a game — as we look to make an even bigger impact off the field as well as on it.

This year’s event will be held in memory of Gavin Curwen, marking what would have been his 50th birthday year. A milestone that makes this occasion even more meaningful for everyone connected to Gav.

The day will raise vital funds for the Gavin Curwen Heart Screening Foundation — a cause set up in his memory, helping to protect others through heart screening and awareness.

This isn’t just about rugby. It’s about community, remembrance, and doing something powerful together.

We’ll be sharing more details soon on how you can get involved and support the day — and the charity.
