We’ve had a few comments from people saying they haven’t seen the signage regarding our car park.

Just to clarify, the car park at Hare & Hounds, Abbey Village is for customers only. There are currently 11 signs displayed around the car park and on the entrance door, along with two tablets on the bar for customers to use.

Many of our customers arrive before we open, head off for a walk, and then return several hours later for breakfast, lunch, or drinks. That’s absolutely fine. You can park, enjoy your walk, and return later to visit us. If you’re out for 4 hours and then come back for breakfast or lunch, simply enter your vehicle registration on one of the tablets when you purchase your food or drink.

We have made every effort to ensure the information is clearly displayed, so we kindly ask visitors to take a moment to check the signage and ensure their registration is entered when visiting.

🚗 IMPORTANT PARKING UPDATE 🚗

Our parking system is LIVE at The Hare and Hounds, Abbey Village.

This has been live since 1st March 2026.

There are 8 signs displayed around the car park, plus:
• 1 at the entrance
• 1 on the glass door as you walk in
• 1 as you leave

We have 2 tablets on the bar where customers MUST enter their vehicle registration.

How it works:
You’re welcome to park up and head out for a walk first — whether that’s 3, 4 or even 5 hours. You do NOT need to enter your reg before your walk. Even if the pub isn’t open when you set off, that’s OK!

However, once you come in to visit us for food or drinks you MUST enter your registration on one of the tablets before you leave the car park.

⚠️ If you drive away without entering your registration, you will receive a parking fine.

The car park is monitored 24 hours a day and is for customers only.
Once again the carpark is for PUB customers only.

For those of you that know our Clare (tall one, very loud 🤣) you will have probably met her other half Brian (very tall, not loud 😆)
Well Brian and some friends are taking on a 24 hour running challenge around Rivington, starting on 20th June.

“On Saturday 20th June 11am through to Sunday 21st June 11am, Brian, Michael, Andy and Harrison will be running around Rivington to raise money for St Catherine's Hospice.
Firstly if anyone can spare a few quid to help them reach their fundraising target we will be super grateful. Michael’s company have offered to match some of the donations so every penny really does count 💚

Secondly, WE NEED YOU!!! 🫵🏻

Are you a runner? Do you fancy keeping them company on some of the laps? Mileage varies from
About 3ish to 8ish miles per lap and there are easier routes and tougher routes… you choose! They will welcome the company (especially if anyone fancies some of the night laps!)

We also need a support crew, if anyone is available for an hour or a few hours to be at base camp in Rivington to help with food and drinks for the chaps or even maybe if anyone fancies a march up to the pike to offer a drink or snack for tired legs it would be most appreciated!!
