❤️ The London Marathon — for Imogen, for Mum🏃♂️
April next year, I’ll be running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK, in honour of my beautiful cousin Imogen, who sadly passed away far too young following an asthma attack. ❤️
When I signed up for this challenge, I knew it would be something special, but since then, life has changed in a way I never could have imagined. I’ve also lost my amazing mum to metastatic breast cancer.
Losing Mum has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face, and with her passing only three weeks ago, I genuinely questioned whether I could go ahead with the marathon. I thought about deferring my place, because the thought of taking on such a huge challenge while grieving felt overwhelming.
But then I thought about Mum, and how much she loved seeing how passionate I was about running. And I knew I wanted to do this for her, too. ❤️
So, although I’ll be running to raise money for Asthma + Lung UK in Imogen’s memory, I’ll also be carrying Mum with me every single step of the way. This run now means more to me than I could ever put into words.
I’m running for Imogen, who deserved so much more time. I’m running for Mum, whose love and support will stay with me forever. And I’m running for everyone whose lives have been affected by these awful diseases.
