The absolute highlights from our day visiting the Guide Dogs Manchester Community Team! 🦮💛 Guide Dogs UK

We got to go behind the scenes to meet the incredible trainers, the staff, and (the best part) some of the gorgeous future life-changers currently in training 🐾

Honestly, we learned SO much about what it actually takes to turn a clumsy 8-week-old puppy into a fully qualified, focused guide dog who can safely navigate the busy streets. It is a mind-blowing mix of world-class science, endless patience, and positive reinforcement 🧠✨

We’ve broken down the whole step-by-step journey they go on in the slides - Swipe through to see how the magic happens! From learning the "magic of the curb" to the concept of "intelligent disobedience," these dogs are absolute geniuses 🦸‍♂️🐕

All through June, Lounges across the country are turning into massive fundraising hubs for causes close to our hearts. Here at Calico, our chosen charity is the incredible Guide Dogs UK, helping to bring independence and freedom to people living with sight loss.

We have turned the Lounge into a proper fun zone, and we’ve got somebbrilliant games on our bar right now. Swipe through to see what you can play and win next time you're in:

🐾 Name the Dog! Meet our ultra-cuddly toy dog who needs a home! It’s just £2 a guess to pick his correct name from our sheet. If you get it right, he’s yours! 🐶

🍬 Guess the Sweets in the Jar! Got a sweet tooth? Take a look at our massive jar on the bar. It’s £2 a guess to estimate exactly how many sweets are hiding inside. The closest guess wins the entire jar! 🤤
