Well… that’s our first full week done! ❤️
I’m writing this as a third party, just to try and put into words what’s been going on behind the scenes.
Firstly, we honestly can’t thank everyone enough who has walked through our doors, supported us, eaten, drank, chatted, laughed and generally been part of our first week. It means more than you probably realise.
We know there are still areas of the business that need attention — and believe us, we’re very aware! 😂 We’re working on it.
We had such a short turnaround to get the doors open, but when we look back at where we started, we’ve already come a long way.
Unfortunately, Alex had already been struggling with a bad back before we started. After all the hu***ng, bumping, lifting and ridiculously long days getting everything ready, his back finally gave up the ghost. He’s now dealing with two slipped discs, which is why the kitchen isn’t fully open yet and why Alex has been somewhat missing from his usual duties.
And that brings us to Sarah.
Sarah has pretty much been thrown in at the deep end and has done an absolutely amazing job. This is her first time running a pub, and she’s had to learn a hell of a lot, very quickly — all while keeping everything moving. We couldn’t be prouder of her. ❤️
And Thank-you to our amazing staff who have helped us this week. And in the future too. I want to say thankyou again to all the family and friends who got us over the line.
We’ve got another busy week ahead, with suppliers, deliveries, meetings and plenty more behind-the-scenes work. As we become more involved, you’ll start to see more and more things introduced — and hopefully, you’ll see this place really start to become ours.
Because this isn’t just a business to us.
It’s our home too.
And we’re genuinely excited about what the future holds.
Most importantly, we want you to be part of it.
So thank you for your patience, your support, your kind words, your custom and for bearing with us while we find our feet.
