I can be a bit of a fussy eater at times, but one thing I do know is how our food is prepared and cooked at Tyzack's Stanedge Golf Club

Tonight’s dinner came home with me from work…our delicious homemade fish pie.

Packed with cod, salmon and prawns in a lovely parsley sauce, topped with creamy, buttery mashed potato. I added a little extra cheese, popped it in the oven until beautifully golden, and served it with a generous helping of garden peas.

Absolutely delicious, proper homemade comfort food!

And I think that says quite a lot…when you own the place, know exactly what goes into the food, and still choose to take it home for your own dinner, you know it must be good.

And just a little disclaimer…our presentation at Tyzack’s is considerably better than my efforts at home! This was purely about getting a lovely dinner on the table and enjoying it.

Yesterday’s Macmillan Coffee Morning at Tyzack’s 💚

What a wonderful day! Our clubhouse was full, the tables were overflowing with incredible homemade cakes and bakes, and most importantly, everyone came together to support a cause that means so much to us.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, bought cakes, purchased raffle tickets, placed sealed bids, donated prizes or simply made a donation. Your support was incredible and made the day such a success.

The money raised from our bake sales is being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, specifically supporting their work at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

A huge amount of work went into the day, particularly from Claire, who created such an amazing selection of cakes and treats — they looked almost too good to eat!

Our raffle was drawn yesterday evening — thank you to everyone who bought tickets and congratulations to all our winners.

The fundraising isn’t quite finished yet! Our sealed bids remain open until close of business tomorrow, so there is still time to place your bid and help us raise even more.

Seeing Tyzack’s full and so many people coming together to support Macmillan was very special.

Homemade comfort food at Tyzack’s 🍽️

Today’s post-match meal was our homemade cottage pie, served with twice-cooked chips and a rich beef dripping gravy — proper hearty food and just what was needed after a morning on the course.

It followed today’s Seniors match at Stanedge Golf Club, where our team enjoyed another great result, beating Lees Hall 4½–½. Congratulations to Roger and all of the Seniors on a fantastic win! ⛳️👏

Golf, good company and homemade food — days like today are exactly what Stanedge and Tyzack’s are all about.

And remember, you don’t have to be a golfer or a member to enjoy Tyzack’s Bar & Bistro — everyone is welcome.

Sometimes, the simplest things are the best — when they are done well.

Chatting to two of our regulars today, we got onto the subject of food and how you don’t always want something complicated. Sometimes you just want a proper plate of cheesy beans on toast.

💚 OUR MACMILLAN DAY AT STANEDGE 💚

Friday 25th September | From 10am

Because none of us walks alone.

Cancer will touch almost all of our lives in some way — through a parent, a friend, a colleague, a neighbour or perhaps ourselves.

That’s why we’re coming together at Stanedge for our Macmillan Day.

From 10am, join us for homemade cakes, coffee and conversation, with all proceeds from our bake sale going directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.

But this day is about more than raising money.

It’s about remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those facing cancer today, celebrating those who have come through the other side and simply being there for one another.

Come for a coffee. Buy a slice of cake. Make a donation. Stay for a chat.

Every cake, every coffee and every pound makes a difference.

Golden, gloriously puffed Yorkshire pudding wrapped around juicy sausages, with a generous spoonful of creamy, buttery mash, sweet garden peas and lashings of rich onion gravy.

A little glimpse of what’s been coming out of the kitchen at Tyzack’s today…

French tarte aux fruits, generously filled with a colourful selection of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, grapes and citrus.

And these beautiful individual vanilla sponge cakes, layered with strawberry jam, fresh cream and crème pâtissière, then topped with summer fruits.

Home baking is a big part of what we do at Tyzack’s. Made here, in our own kitchen, with care, attention to detail and plenty of creativity.

Perfect alongside a freshly made coffee or pot of tea.

Today’s homemade creation from Tyzack’s Bar & Bistro….and this one is rather special.

Chocolate Dubai Kunafa and Pistachio Cream Tart.

A crisp pastry case filled with a delicious pistachio and kunafa combination, topped with a rich layer of chocolate, pistachio pieces and finished with a pistachio cream drizzle.

Inspired by the flavours of Dubai chocolate and given our own homemade Tyzack’s twist.

Freshly made today and available by the slice — once it’s gone, it’s gone!
