The Board Inn has been under our management since 2011. The interiors, as well as the cuisine, reflect the perfect combination of two cultures, the Italian and the British one, which are both at the very core of our philosophy. The typical cosy feeling of a British country pub is combined with the Antico recognizable modern and elegant interiors style and completed by our true passion for great It

alian food. The restaurant has a pub area at the entrance where the main bar is located, with comfortable chairs and sofas and a fireplace. We then have a separate main area for dining, which extends into the conservatory and two smaller, more intimate rooms for a quieter dining experience. The restaurant is situated on Penshaw View in Birtley, Chester-le-Street, easily accessible by car taking the A1 or by bus taking the service X25 and the bus stop is just a few steps away.

Due to technical issues relating to planned upgrades that are beyond our control, Antico Birtley at The Board Inn is temporarily closed.
