Hi everyone. We have an announcement to make!
After an unforgettable 9 years we’ve sold the wine bar and will be stepping away.
It was a big decision to make because this place means the world to us and has been such a huge part of our lives.
When we took it over, it was a juice bar and we spent many an evening decorating & transforming it with our boys after school and turning it into the sort of cosy twinkly place that we always imagined.
We’ve been through a lot - Covid was a big one!
Remember when we turned into a takeaway and then a shop for a while, then made a deal with St Ed’s who kindly let us use an unused garden as our own - an arrangement that we still keep every summer.
We’ve had quiz nights, live comedy nights, live music on Sunday afternoons. Wine tasting nights, gin launches, so many pop-up food nights and private parties and hundreds of bottomless wine & cheese bookings. We’ve tried fondues, waffles, cream teas, breakfasts. We’ve tried being a deli, and selling freshly baked bread. Some things worked, some things didn’t.
But we’ve kept going, and we’ve kept busy and we’ve loved every minute.
We’ve been fortunate enough to have had such amazing staff over the years. It was so hard to say goodbye to Drew and now I really feel like this is the right time for me to hand over the reins. You’ll be pleased to know though that Craig, Kylie and lots more of the faces you know & love are staying.
I’m excited to introduce Clive & his team, who will be carrying the wine bar forward with fresh energy and passion. I know they’ll honor what we’ve built while bringing their own ideas to make it even better.
Thank you all for your support, your kindness, and the memories. I hope you’ll give the new team the same warm welcome that you gave us. This really is such a great community to be part of.
We’ll be closed in January for a refurb and a freshen up, and then a relaunch. So excited to see the wine bar in its next chapter! Let’s have the best December ever and see you in February for a glass of wine! 😘🫶🥂
