Located in an enviable spot on Cheltenham’s iconic Montpellier Walk is Harry Cook Free House, a dog-friendly pub that caters to the modern pleasures of London’s travellers, despite its breathtaking and historic Georgian exteriors. Constructed back in the 1830s when Cheltenham was a booming spa town, we’ve been giving locals and tourists alike a place to rest their feet, catch their breath, and indulge in seasonal pub dishes and drinks ever since, all under the watchful eyes of our Caryatid pillars – a word that comes from the Greek, meaning “a stone carving of a draped female that supports a building.” How’s that for a great fact to drop over your next after-work drinks or during half-time when the live sports are on? If you’d prefer to see the action up close and personal, we’re not far from Cheltenham Town Football Club. But if you don’t feel like hitting the pitch, you could always stick around for our live DJ on Fridays and live music on Saturdays, instead.
