We are delighted to share even more good news from The Grape Escape!

This week we were awarded 3 Stars for our list from The World of Fine Wine's World's Best Wine Lists.

A total of 312 establishments world-wide (25 in the UK) received a 1, 2, or 3-Star rating and we are chuffed to bits to be in the top category! In the past we have received a 2-Star award... receiving 3-Stars was beyond our wildest expectation!

Earlier this week we were delighted to discover that The Grape Escape has been judged to have the best value wine list in… Europe!

The World’s Best Wine List Awards were created in 2014, organised by award-winning publication The World of Fine Wine Magazine, and are the most prestigious and rigorous global wine lists awards program. The awards are judged by a panel of some of the world’s most respected experts, including Masters of Wine, a Master Sommelier, and a World Champion Sommelier, to guarantee the credibility and integrity of the competition and to put each submitted list through an intensive independent judging process.

We are so proud of this award; coming in the year we celebrate our 10th anniversary somehow makes it even more special. Offering a changing selection of great wines at great value has been at the core of what we have done for a decade, and we promise to continue providing the same service as long as you keep coming to see us.

The next step is to represent Europe at the award ceremony in September, going up against the best value lists from Asia, Australasia, Middle East & Africa, North America, and South & Central America and the Caribbean.

NEW TASTING EVENT!

If the words ‘wine tasting’ conjure up images of red trousers, serious conversations about cellars, and pushy sales pitches, then let us help to change your mind! Our tastings take place in a super-relaxed environment where wine is all about enjoyment, never about how much you know.

During Cheltenham Food & Drink Week (September 18th to 24th) we are hosting a tasting featuring some of the most popular grape varieties and styles. We’ll be discussing terroir, winemaking, vintages and more. If you’ve got ambitions to ace our weekly blind wine flight, would like to feel more confident with restaurant wine lists, or just fancy trying something new, then this tasting is for you.

NEW TASTING EVENT!

As the leaves start turning from green to brown, the red wines begin to get a little darker in the glass. Autumn is our favourite seasons for reds as we continue to chill the lighter varieties for Indian summer days but also pour something a little heavier as the evenings draw in.

Many chefs and restaurants base their menus around seasonality and the same approach can be applied to wine lists. On this tasting we will explore a selection of red wines that ease us into the transition from summer to autumn.
