Wednesday 29th of July 2026 We are served a 6 point eviction notice with 28 days to comply. One of the points is we must stop using the toilets. This came with no prior negotiations, no prior notice, no mediation. This was issued by Brown Jackobson, and the old station trust company. We engaged legal counsel and were told that we would be able to stay trading while the eviction was under dispute.
On the 1st of September at 4am bailiffs broke in and changed the locks. We assumed that as this was under dispute we had a good case. We would like to point out that most of the 6 points were disputable and already dealt with. The sticking point was the toilets – after 14 years the “trust” decided to revoke access and use of. No reasons given.
Our lease expires in November, had the “trust” simply waited this could have been dealt with in a more civilized manor. In our opinion this was done to inflict maximum financial damage to the Snug.
I would like to point out that we Purchased the business for a substantial amount. The “trusts” actions have wiped this out.

The Snug is dead. Something may occupy the building, but it won’t be the Snug. Those of you involved with the Station need to take a long hard look at what has gone on here and think about if this is something you want to stand by.
