BIAB isn’t just another gel product—it’s designed to create strength, structure, and durability. Because of its thicker consistency, it’s also far more sensitive to temperature changes.

☀️ In warmer conditions, BIAB can become runny, making it harder to control and increasing the risk of flooding the cuticle area.

❄️ In colder temperatures, it can become thick and difficult to self-level, leading to uneven application and trapped air bubbles.

⚡ One of the most common concerns with BIAB is the dreaded heat spike. Since BIAB is applied in thicker layers to build structure, the curing process generates more heat, which can cause discomfort if not managed correctly.

As nail professionals, understanding how temperature affects our products helps us:
✔️ Improve application control
✔️ Reduce heat spikes
✔️ Prevent premature lifting
✔️ Increase retention

Did you know that temperature can have a huge impact on your gel application and retention?

☀️ Heat can make gel polish thinner and runnier, increasing the risk of flooding cuticles and uneven application.

💅 Frequent temperature changes can also affect wear over time, contributing to lifting and reduced longevity.

⚡ And let’s not forget heat spikes—those sudden bursts of heat clients may feel during curing, often caused by thicker applications or high-intensity lamps.

My top tips:
✔️ Store gels in a cool, stable environment
✔️ Apply thin, even coats
✔️ Choose the right viscosity for the season
✔️ Cure according to manufacturer guidelines
✔️ Prioritize client comfort during curing
