⚠️ Future of The Flute and Tankard in Jeopardy! ⚠️

It has emerged that a planning application to build residential properties in 121-123 Queen St (Old Barclays Building, now Poundland) has been submitted back in July. F&T only become aware of it today.

Cardiff's much loved underground music venue & jazz bar (which took on most of the Dempsey's community and nights) has quite rightfully come forward stating their future is in grave danger due to future noise issues and lack of venue soundproofing.

Upon checking the supporting planning policy statement on the application - there is no mention of "music" "noise" or "sound" at all taking into consideration in the document.

⚠️ IT IS PARAMOUNT THAT WE AS A MUSIC COMMUNITY come together and CHALLENGE this development & make it ensure it follows Agent of Change guidance (its not law) to ensure the safeguarding of an important site for new, old musicians - students from Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and University of South Wales too who use it to further develop their music.

Please share this - far and wide.

Links to both the petiton set up and where you can OBJECT against this development are found below.

Thank you so much as always for your support,

Minty x
