(475)

We programme everything. Live music, Theatre, Comedy. You name it, we've probably got it somewhere at Porter's. And if we don't have it, we want it; Porter's is about YOU. Dan Porter used to be an actor, but then he opened this bar, and if you drop in he'll welcome you with open arms. We have a stage in the main bar where our Bands/Comedians/Performers do their thing. It also serves as a place for Dan to make a spectacle of himself late on a Saturday night, but that really has to be seen to be believed. We serve Lagers, Bottled Ales, World Beers, Spirits, Wines, Soft Drinks, Waterloo Teas, Coffees, Pizza, Dan's Nan's Famous Coleslaw and other tasty treats - it isn't just our stage that has variety! So, come on down; Whether it's a Thursday afternoon chill our or a Saturday evening knees up, we can't wait to see you at Porter's. Check out our events pages for the latest listings. GOOD TIMES.

FIRST LADY OF FLUXUS
A Celebration of Alison Knowles

Fluxus is a practice of creating performance art from the mundanity of daily lives and actions. Fluxus promoted an inclusive art practice open to all which seeded the practices of conceptual art, performance art and digital art.

On the first anniversary of her death we celebrate Alison Knowles, one of the founding members of Fluxus. The evening will include a performance of a broad selection of her event scores, followed by performances from contemporary female artists who continue and build on her incredible and delightful legacy.

Union of Scum is a podcast where comedians Darren J. Coles, Paul Hilliard and Charlie Webster claw their way through the soft rot of Britain and call it entertainment. Weaned on Scotch egg meat, bottle bank fires and the day-glo death grin of Mr. Blobby, the boys have been slowly documenting a nation quietly collapsing in on itself.

Union of Scum is going LIVE! But they need witnesses! For one night only, they want YOU to be part of their live audience, to give them your dirty folklore, your little town’s secret horrors or the stories that never quite made it out of the pub smoking area.

Torchwood’s Gareth David Lloyd brings Peter Mottley’s historical drama After Agincourt home to Cardiff.

Originally performed by Bob Hoskins on BBC Radio 3, the play uses Shakepeare’s Henry V as a framework to tell the story through the eyes of the common soldiers. Written in vivid modern vernacular, it deftly explores themes of class, PTSD, brotherhood and the real human cost of war. Underscoring the narrative is Peter Mottley’s meticulous historical research, which serves to sharpen the details of the period and expose grim realities often played down in mainstream interpretations. The result is an enlightening, highly emotional, and captivating drama
