Sometimes when you’re busy running a pub, you forget to stop and look at just how far you’ve come.
Amos and I did that recently… and we’re pretty bloody proud of our little village pub. ❤️
🎤 OPEN MIC IS GROWING WEEK ON WEEK
More people are coming through the doors, whether to perform or simply enjoy the incredible talent —
And when was the last time you went to an Open Mic and ended up DANCING?! 💃😂
A massive thank you to Laurel Phillips, because quite simply these nights wouldn't happen without her. The time, energy and enthusiasm she puts into them is incredible.

🏆 WE HAVE ONCE AGAIN ACHIEVED A 5 FOOD HYGIENE RATING! 🏆

FIVE OUT OF FIVE — AGAIN!
That little number represents a huge amount of work behind the scenes every single day, and achieving the highest possible food hygiene rating is something our whole team should be incredibly proud of. ❤️👏
🎯 AND LET'S NOT FORGET OUR DARTS!
Last year we had an incredible FOUR darts teams playing out of the Lewis Arms — and one of them only went and WON THE LEAGUE! 🏆🎯👏
That's another part of what makes a proper village pub for us — teams, friendly rivalry, plenty of banter and people coming together week after week. ❤️
🧠 Then came our VERY FIRST QUIZ NIGHT…
47 PEOPLE — 12 TEAMS! 😳
I was absolutely bowled over. I worried nobody would turn up… then you lot practically filled the pub! 😂❤️
🍺 Our LOYALTY CARD has gone down a storm too. Judging by the amount of free pints we've already handed over, some of you are taking this loyalty business VERY seriously! 😂🍻
But one comment we keep hearing means an awful lot to us…
🏡 “IT'S A PROPER TRADITIONAL VILLAGE PUB.” 🏡
And that's exactly what we want the Lewis Arms to be.
A proper pub where people talk to each other, locals know each other, strangers soon become friends, there's laughter at the bar, good food from the kitchen and always a warm welcome.
Traditional village pubs are becoming a rarity — and we're incredibly proud to still be one. ❤️
The other thing we constantly hear is how warm, welcoming and friendly the Lewis Arms is.
And THAT isn't just down to Amos and me or our staff.
That's you guys too. ❤️
For the last 20 months we've worked our socks off, but we couldn't have done any of it without our fantastic little work family, our locals and this wonderful village.
People muck in. People help. People support us.
That's what a proper village pub and community should be.
So let's keep building. ❤️
Come for a pint, enjoy some food, join the quiz, throw a few darts, sing a song, have a dance or simply pull up a chair.
