The Yew Tree

The Yew Tree The Inn was built in 1348 and it's the oldest pub in Kent. We are Anna, Mark, a not so big Alice and a very little Ellen.

Queen Anne and the Archbishop of Canterbury are reputed to have stayed here, and pub frequenting Dick Turpin evaded capture from the law hiding out here. The building used as a hospital to treat wounded soldiers during the civil war and unsurprisingly two Ghosts live here, though they prefer to remain in the background. The large beer garden offers the perfect setting for a summer afternoon, wheth

er enjoying a beer or a bite to eat. As the owners we'd like to welcome you here and hope you find the place as charming and intriguing as we do. We aim to make the Yew Tree one of your favourite pubs in Kent.
