Headed by Jack Banjo Courtney (Cassie Kinoshi's seed., Olivia Dean, Opus Kink) and featuring Daniel Kemshell (Byron Wallen, Olivia Murphy’s Jazz Orchestra, Olly Chalk), Matt Gedrych (Emma-Jean Thackray, Allysha Joy) and Arthur Newell (Arrhythmia, Jazz Sabbath), Jack Banjo's Snackwall peddle their unique brand of avant rock-jazz, echoing jazz rock, Scandi-jazz, traditional musics and art-rock whilst continuing the powerful energies and grooves that have driven the UK jazz scene in recent years. With ecclectic inspiration from the likes of electric Miles, Cuong Vu and The Bad Plus; these four impressive musicians, now well and truly established on the scene, perform a dizzying array of interaction and interplay as they weave in and out of rockier and modal soundworlds. Expect diverse vibes, from fierce blowing to big grooves to ethereal soundscapes.

The Kielan Sheard Trio provides a fresh and innovative approach toward the art of the trio. It features Jonah Evans on drums, Tom O’Brien on piano and Kielan Sheard on electric bass. Tonight’s performance will demonstrate their collective work toward the ‘Three as One’ through the medium of original composition and improvisation.

Final gig of the term this Saturday!

Phil played Clare Jazz with Sabar-Dub band Fofoulah back in 2019, and returns with his organ trio for a night of original grooves.

The Phil Stevenson Trio plays a unique and high energy brand of funk - taking in 60s R’n'B and New Orleans, with compositions heavily influenced by African guitar styles such as Mbalax, Chimurenga and Afrobeat, in which deep basslines collide with bright guitar rhythms and heavy drum grooves.
