Very first Loft party 50 years ago today! Maybe it’s a sign .... come to the bar tonight and have dance! ♥️ love saves the day ♥️

'The Loft is a feeling.’ These are the words of David Mancuso who opened the doors to his h(ohm) at 647 Broadway and formally launched his Love Saves the Day parties on this very day 50 years ago. ’The Loft was a given name and is sacred,’ he later declared as his parties organically became referred to as 'The Loft’.

Many of us have had the great fortune to experience these parties and I think its pretty safe to say it has dramatically changed our lives. The music, the sound system, the dancing, the environment, the food of course have all had great effect. But even more importantly its the sense of community, the evocation of our childlike spirit, the sharing of the dance, the psychic musical conversation, the safe space, the desire for social progress and most of all THE LOVE that has brought us all together.

Thank you David and wishing a very Happy Anniversary to all of the Loftees throughout the world.
