About Us

Gastrono-me is the original brainchild of Mike & Gem. It began it’s life on St Johns Street in 2011, where space was scarce, but heart was colossal. Within a short stroll, we found a new welcome home on the cobbles of 22 Abbeygate Street.

Our aim to is to create fantastic, fun imaginative food and drink, in a laid back and beautiful environment. Inspired by café cultures from all over the world, we play with the rules of dining, preferring a more flexible way of eating out from morning until night. Flavour is our prime goal, whether it’s an Ultimate Breakfast Bagel at breakfast or a Tempura Beer Battered Avocado Taco it has to wow your taste-buds. We feel the very same about our drink offering, and we begin our celebration of ‘Me-mosa’s’ at breakfast, along with our excellent coffee, a unique blend from our local roastery. We enjoy seeking out craft lagers and ales that you may not have tried before, and our wine list is of course as adventurous and fun as we are - so whether it’s Rose made by Jon Bon Jovi, or a delicious vibrant and sparkling red we’ve got it!
